Yep. I have a deposit on one but I have a couple of self-imposed "rules" before I let myself take delivery. One is to close a round of funding for my startup and two is to get my wife squared away with a new Telluride (our Sprinter van has 170k miles and while I love it, she's understandably tired of having a 12-passenger van as a daily driver). If I can't make those two things happen, I'll give up the allocation. My car is on the Orion Highway and it's scheduled to arrive in port tomorrow, so the pressure* is on... : )

Your 1M is VO and your M2CS is MB, right? I have AW and -- if it works out -- HS. It would be fun to get together. You're only 9 hours away.

*I say "pressure" jokingly. Joan Mir, who is leading the MotoGP championship, talked about "real pressure" in the post-race press conference on Sunday and referred to people facing economic hardship brought on by the pandemic as "real pressure" or "bad pressure" in contrast to the "good pressure" of leading the world championship and trying to clinch the title in the next two weeks.

I'm guessing you aren't getting this from a UT dealer being that its coming to the east coast port? Or PCD?

The dealer is in Florida. Long story and not really that interesting so I won't bore people with the details. : )

I was scheduled to do PCD in Spartanburg but I cancelled since I'm still not 100% sure I'll be taking delivery. I thought it wouldn't be very nice to back out of a car and leave BMWNA and the dealer with an unsold car hundreds of miles from the dealer.

Gotcha, hope everything comes together for you.

Thanks. I hope and expect it will work out, too. I'm aware of the downsides for the dealer -- and for myself -- and we talked about that at the outset. I was like, "Are you sure you want to do this?" And I have a deposit down (legally refundable but ethically not really imo) which is there for this exact reason. There's a *Mint Green* M550i at a dealer in SoCal that apparently was a customer order and they changed their mind. I don't know the circumstances, just that it happened. So I get that it can be bad, but this isn't one of those situations and everything has been out in the open. I even posted in the "allocations at MSRP" thread that if someone wanted to take over my allocation I would put them in touch with the dealer. If the dealer didn't want to work with me they wouldn't have. But yeah, you're right it can be less than ideal for both parties, especially if it's a very individual spec, like the one in SoCal.

Anyway, I think I got this thread off track. Should not have mentioned it here. Back to Q&A on the ordering guide...
