M2CS BMWFS Finance Rate Thread

Since none of these have actually been delivered in the US yet, actual finance rates from BMWFS are unknown. I'm sure many will be buying cash, but for those of us that are financing, what have you been told? It's still a little early to lock for me on the East coast.

My sales manager said "It will get the lowest rate for whatever it qualifies for at the time". Meaning, he doesn't know if the system will give it a separate designation or use 2020 M2C rates.

The 2020 M2C rate I believe is 60mo @.9% (really hoping for this). 1.9% for 72mo.

2021 M2C rate is 60mo @ 1.9% (still good). 2.69% for 72mo.

Either way, I'm just hoping we don't get offered some standard rate by BMWFS like 4.9%. If that's the case I'll be using a credit union.

Every BMW dealership has the ability to give you whatever rate they would like. The 1.9 and 0.9 promotions are usually their "buy" rates. I've been told by my dealership that they will offer me their buy rate and not mark it up. 0.9 seems likely.

My speculation derived from sales figures. Highly doubt they will pull the low financing rates before the new year. They'll want to keep the sales momentum high. Sales numbers were down early in the year, but are now exceeding targets. Low rates should have them meet or exceed revenue targets.

My dealer doesn't markup the buy rate. But it is model specific. For example on the X5: 2020 is .9% 2021 is 1.9% for all models except 2021 45e is .9%

Sounds like the CS is headed towards the .9%

My dealer said the 0.9% rate does not apply to the CS. Is any dealer saying it does? If so I'd like to connect the two and pursuade my dealer to make it happen.

While the fine print says .9% applies to ANY 2020 BMW model, one would think the M2CS gets this treatment. The "including" clause simply lists various models. 2020 M cars are listed at .9% on the leasing and finance offers section of BMWUSA.com

The CS isn't showing up in the system yet so they don't really know and they don't want to commit to giving you a loan at a lower rate than they can get the money themselves. We've got a gentleperson's agreement that they will extend their buy rate to me. In other words the dealership won't make any money on my loan.

I'll try to get the same - thanks. Your premise is the CS eventually will show up in the system; my dealer sort of implied it may never given its limited run.

I was told 0.9 and 1.9 but this is with greater than 720 I think.

They can lock in the rate for sixty days

From what my dealer and I have discussed, it'd be 0.9% for my purchase. I got the 0.9% in writing by email after I completed the online finance application.

When I raised it with my SA in September, he asked me which dealer(s) were offering 0.9% on the CS (he said that rate did not apply to the CS). gmhl10 - can you state who your dealer is? Would love to verify dealers can get money at that rate (or better) and should pass along the offer to as many of us as are interested. If I don't get that rate think I'm just going to go cash on the purchase.

I locked in with .9% on October 31st by completing a BMWFS credit app. October rates were .9% across the board for any 2020 model. I was told it's dealer discretion. Some dealers will probably treat this like another way to make some $. Just like ADM.

Just put down more money for a down payment. Also, each month pay extra towards the principal as it will speed up the loan amortization and reduce interest expense.

I appreciate everyone's post on this it is very helpful. My dealer told me that they are planning to follow the M2C pricing incentives for 2020 which is released at the beginning of each month.

I purchase a lot of vehicles and a am not an expert at all, but during my last purchase I was quoted a 4% interest rate and when I told them I was just going to finance through my credit Union at 1.9% they quickly called me back and offered 2.4%. The dealer stated that the bank was familiar with my history resulting in a lower interest rate. This is clearly a line and was interesting to learn the dealer really sets the finance numbers!

How did you do it through BMW's credit app, when the M2CS is the one car that is not listed! What am I missing???

I just submitted my credit information and the CA handles the rest. Got a text from him saying locked and the rate was .9. Not sure of the technical details between them and BMWFS

As others have stated, he did say it was each dealers discretion to honor the .9 for 2020 CS

Yes you can get 0.9% for the CS (at this time, these programs change monthly so for November, it's still 0.9%), the dealer has the option to mark the rate up to 1.9% as they are financially incented to do so, however many don't because they know many of their buyers are savvy and will see through it.

This rate is also based on your credit, if you have less than prime credit your rate will be higher. The 0.9% is only available to prime rate credit (scores in the 700s or better).

Dealers make a good bit of margin on their rates, and if BMWFS doesn't approve you they will use partner banks which will provide rates and often the dealer will increase those if they think you'll accept it.

It's wise to understand what the financial market is doing when it comes to rates to have the best possible buying leverage.

I took the 0.9% on my CS, because that's almost free money and my capital is better used in my other investments.

My dealer says nothing is available yet. He's checked the BMWFS system and nothing in there for CS.

Seems a dealer can say a lot of stuff before hand, lets see if they can deliver!

Edit: just checked again with dealership and again was told rates have not been released yet. He said people on internet can say a lot of stuff but he just checked the system.

It's unlikely a "special car" like CS would get the same rates as a normal 2 series. Rates were very different when I got my 1M from those available for 135/128.

Same here. Finance department won't put anything about the 0.9% in writing. Only verbally agreed to extend buy rate with no markup so they don't get screwed if things change. M2CS is not in the system yet. Please post if you arrange financing through bmw without the CS in the system. I'd like to know the inner workings of how the dealership accomplished the task.

I don't see the 0.9% going away in December.

At this point, I'm thinking we might not even get them until January.

There are a few W boats that go directly to Brunswick. Some cars could already be on these boats. I think four arrive the 2nd to 3rd week in December.

Nevermind, not direct to Brunswick, but all hitting east coast.
