Man... What's going on? I wonder if the M2 CS was impacted. |

That is really odd. Reading that table it means that M2s built on Oct-23-2020 were the only M2s affected. Since the engine was likely built long before the car was assembled, it doesn't make any sense to me.

Haha! No kidding.
I just checked, there were 5 US M2CS's with a production date of 10/23. None of them have open recalls on them, in fact the only recalls on all US cars right now are the 4 cars with the fuel injector issue.

Which 4 cars with injector issues would these be? The ones built on 10/14? |

No problem, the 4 cars had production dates before 10/14.

Fortunately an injector job is easy. At least it'll be fixed before you get it and won't have to let go of your toy after it's in your hands.

That's what everyone says. I am just a bit concerned that I am getting a new car that is already being torn apart. OCD thing.

Mine was built on 10/16. Dodged a bullet. Had my SA double check and my car is fine.

So let me get this straight, on a very special car, that has a motor that's been around for quite some time, we already have two different problems (injectors and rod bearings)
With only a few cars delivered. Anyone else starting to lose a little faith in BMW's engineering?

I work in manufacturing company on the engineering side and used to deal with the factory floor all the time. I talk with our manufacturing folks still and the musical chairs and strain that COVID puts on the factory floor for assembly people etc is nuts. The constant in and out and quarantine and retraining and moving assemblers to other positions etc. I'd wager bmw is facing similar issues in their plants. So yeah, I don't think cars made during these months are going to be the highest reliability winners ever relative to their normal process, but there isn't another option and the quality process and checks should limit most issues. The fact that they caught these things prior to delivery is a good indication of a solid quality control process actually.

I would simply be understanding that you are buying a car in the middle of a once in a century pandemic. *shrug*
