I was using Vgate Wifi first, would never buy it again! Extremely slow, many connection losses, and no stand-by mode (at least on the version i had)

Then Veepeak BLE, can highly recommend that for various reasons. For constant data you might expect occasional connection losses. But never had a problem while coding. Can be plugged in all the time, auto stand-by and resume, very nice.

Ordered an OBDLink MX+ few days ago, not yet received. Should be faster and more reliable connection that Veepeak, but also three tiles the price.

So for most of the users i'd say Veepeak BLE is the way to go, especially for its price 👍🏼

UK/US/EU friendly? Never heard of something like that.
Thanks for this. It would be good to hear how you get on with the OBD Link MX+.

This makes me a little nervous. I wanted to use bimmercode to code out the Active sound and the folding mirror option when locking the car.

Anyone have good experience with coding or mods at the BMW Richmond hill service center? That's where I take my cars and have good experience but no coding or mods yet.

Long shot but is it possible to make the 'DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER" more appealing like how the M4 cluster has it with slightly bigger font? Coming from a Mercedes owner I love how they have the digital speed right in the centre and I miss that feature so much. After having it enabled with coding I find that its really hidden at the bottom.

If they didn't drop when you open the door they'd tear the weatherstrip. Several manufacturers do this. It should raise fully only when the door is completely closed.

Yes I've had many cars that behave this way...Needless to say I've never been back there again. Maroons.

I just messaged the other thread but does anyone have the instructions for this for DCT m2c? Thanks!

Curious if anyone with a 2018 6speed has coded the gear shifting indicator thing to just show current gear instead of the indication of what gear to switch to?

Also curious if anyone has coded the auto high beams to start from 0 MPH instead of 20 or 30 like it is from the factory.

Thanks in advance

It's not possible to code this on 6MT

It can't be done..

It's locked out and the software is not written to allow Sport+ on start up because of liability reasons; as S+ partially disables the stability control.

BMW wants you to acknowledge that traction is limited when you hit Sport+, so it will never be a default-on option, ever.

Same as when you program Sport+ into the M1 & M2 buttons on the M2C, the system still ask you to confirm that you're aware of limited stability every time you hit the button.

Makes sense. How about just Sport then?

Not allowed be coded to memory either because it maps the throttle to be more sensitive. The software parameters is just not written to allow such.

You can code to memorize 'start in Eco-Pro' though..

Not sure what year your car is but iirc, i believe this is no longer changeable with bimmercode...at least with lci cars. Someone will be along to correct me if im wrong though.

I do remember changing mine a long while back (MY17) and it was in the FEM module in expert mode.

EDIT-
Guys, feel free to shoot me down in flames but I'm fairly sure this option is in iDrive configuration, no need for BimmerCode...?

You mean you want to change your dct to be M2C setting rather than civic m2?

Unfortunately, it has to be done in Esys.

Bimmercode or any other coding application can't change the valves behaviour

Bimmerlink for on the fly control or a "permanent" like macht schnell EVC.

To my knowledge there's no organized complete list of what you can or can't do on the app. You can search the forum/google and find different coding cheatsheets/spreadsheets people have put together in Excel on the 2/3 series forums but that's for ESYS coding, not all of which can be done in bimmercode. This app is still relatively new. The easiest thing to do would be to just download the app and look through all the modules in easy mode. You can pick everything you want to code in one sitting and have it done in a half hour, if that.

Anything you're looking for that you can't find in easy mode, just do some google searching and you can most likely find instructions on how to do it in expert mode. That's how I've been doing it. If you need help with something specific you can ask in this thread/forum and people are usually more than willing to help.

Here's what I've personally done to my own car and can confirm to work:

Easy Mode:

DVD In Motion
Enable Video Playback Via USB
Additional Video Codecs
Disable Legal Disclaimers
Change BMW Gongs To BMWi
Disable Seat Belt Chimes
Close Windows + Sunroof w/ Keyfob
Fold/Unfold Side Mirrors w/Keyfob + CA
Unlock Doors When Car Is Shut Off
Radio/Nav Shuts Off When Door Is Opened
Angel Eye Brightness At 100%
Disable Orange Side Markers
Enable Door Handle Lights In Reverse
Disable Headlight Washers
Fuel Range Warning 2 - Not Active
Active Sound Shut Off
Brake Force Display Mode - Flashing
Brake Force Display Flash - 5 Times/Sec
Brake Force Display Speed - 5kph
Brake Force Display Act Force - Weak
Comfort Closing Delay - No Delay
Bootlid Remote Delay - 3 Sec
Disable Windows Up Safety Feature
Rain/Light Sensor - Sensitive
Air Con On w/Auto - Off
Air Con Memory - Active
Air Circ Memory - Active
Passenger Mirror - Reverse Tilt Increased
Mirrors Fold/Unfold - 50kph
No Horn On Lock w/Engine Running
Activate PDC While Moving Backwards
Welcome Lighting - 60 sec
Alarm - European
Auto Lock - 1 Min

Expert Mode:

Variable Light Distribution
Anti-Dazzle/GFHB
LCI Tail Light Retrofit
Rear Fogs
Bang + Olufsen Audio Skin

Buy the app and an ODBII dongle: http://bimmercodeapp.com/

Once you have both you'll connect to your car and see menus. Scroll through them and pick want you want. Press code and you're done. Simple as that.

The only instructions you'd need are for items that aren't in the "easy mode". If you wanted to code something in that requires expert mode you can do a google search and find what you're looking for that way. It's all very simple and you don't need me holding your hand showing you how to do it. Just use the forum search function and google and you'll find everything you need.
