You can do both without a tune. It says in the IC description that a stock car gains 7hp/5tq. I can't speak for the possible increased lag. The intake can be installed as well and should be, IMO, a primary mod done asap. It opens her lungs up a bit and creates some audible pleasure.

Finally it's out. Epic build!

BTW, am I reading it correct from the graph that big turbo spools even faster than stock?
What's going on below 2500rpm then?

From looking at the graph I doubt there is any extra lag. The Dinan graph nearly mirrors the stock graph but at a higher level. If there was a dramatic spike at 2500 That would indicate lag.

Thinking about it you're probably right. Why not show it though?

You may be right, and I think you probably are, but the only way to show the absence of a spike at 2500 is to show what comes before and after 2500, right?

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Most of the other kits available are too complicated, and over the top power-wise. This seems to be the perfect blend of reliability, fairly simple installation, and usable power to the ground.

I'm not too crazy about the black tip exhaust though. I really do like how the system sounds with the resonator delete though. Just straight up nasty!

I wonder how many miles my stock turbo will have before I pull the trigger??? LOL

It's a big turbo kit with daily driveability. Sure, the Pure S2 with JB4 will yield higher peak numbers but how smooth and refined is it? This stage 4 "area under the curve" should be pretty sweet. BTW, the black tips compliment the nasty sound perfectly. They're oversized and create a race car look.

Would I get most of the gains from just the turbo and intercooler? I have the M Performance exhaust and really like its sound

EDIT: and tune, obviously

Dinan, I am quoting myself and am clarifying my intention. If it costs a little bit at down low torque for such a beautiful top end, I'd be more than glad to accept it. Just let us know

99% of the gains come from the tune, turbo, and IC. Dinan advertises 8hp gain with the exhaust but I think that's on a completely stock car. In other words, your butt dyno wont be able to tell if MPE or Dinan is installed.

I'd opt for the intake though. It's going to make some sweet sounds as you'll be like 8 or so psi over stock.

That sounds pretty sweet! What did it all cost you?

With the lpfp / fuel-it, you need a second set of injectors, right? Or a big single injector? What are you using for secondary fuel? e85? This add-on has to be built into the tuning, right?

Is the dowpipe catless? Are you getting good help with the JB4 community?

I'm still thinking for simplicity's sake, and due to the massive amount of research, development, and real life testing that Dinan does... That's going to be my route. I am not a peak HP on Paper guy. I had my turbo e36 street tuned, and it was faster than other guy's cars with 100+ more "dyno" HP.

Plus, from owning previous cars with Dinan parts, the resale value is always heads and tails above the rest. And let's not forget that warranty!

All great valid points. The big ones for me are simplicity and resale value though I do believe these M2 will hold their value quite well.

Dinan, what are you quoting on install cost for the turbo, tune, and intercooler??

I'd like to know how much boost over stock.

Anyone know the stock boost levels?

I hooked up an OBD reader the other day and saw 12-14 psi. Keep in mind I'm still in my break in period so I didn't gun it too hard.

Stock turbo runs 15-16psi. If you don't know airflow rate on modified turbo then apples and oranges.
