Ah! Exactly the reason BMW put those pistons & top rings in the M2! So people can't say to M2 owners that their engine is 'merely an n55 w/ a tune'! Finally someone gets it!

I am excited, though, to see what the X4 M40i engine is to be like.. because it is eerily similar to the rough engine specs of the M2 before today. I wonder if that'll have the S55 pistons and top rings too.

For a second I doubt myself if I made the right decision on the 2016 M3, and now looking closer, BMW cheap out the car in comparison to the M3, it now seem that the M3 is a far better deal than the M2... BMW will definitely increase the M3/M4 price for next year.

Not sure who would take the M235 instead. The M2 looks bad ass!i

Or you could ED the m2 and the savings for the M3 vanish lol.

Apples vs Apples not Apples vs Oranges. If you can get $5,000 off for ED on the M3 more than likely you can get the same for the M2. Which brings the apples vs apples to $10,000 more not $5,000 more. Just saying!

Actually they didn't just put in the N55 with a tune. This much more akin to an actual M-motor. It is same bore and stroke as N55, n54, and S55. But it gets the internals from S55. It is more like a S55 with a single twin scroll turbo.

The M2 is a parts bin car like the 1M. But clearly there was much more thought put into the M2.

Auto Express is saying limited numbers, 500 for UK. So it might be hard to get like the 1M.

Not really...
Today till December 15 you can get 7% discount for ED, next year is only 5%
Next year BMW may increase the M3 price

The new M2 has no incentives, M3 has $750

No Carbon fiber roof
No CF driveshaft
No Real M seats
No M3 engine
And the list goes on...

Anyway, the M2 still looks BAD ASS, I loved.
