Water damage to the Amp?

The drainage channels between the body shell and the rear light assemblies appear to be blocked.

Just wondering if this is why people suffer from water ingress...

Yup. Thinking removal rather than pressure washing as the lower risk solution...

I bought me a sweet power-washer and gave my car a good blast, which immediately pushed water into one of PDC sensors and conked it out..

Beware of the pressure and electronics..

BMW actually has a tsb fix where they created a metal shield for the amp to direct water away. Can't remember the part number though.

It's plastic not metal and here is the part number: 65152715205.

I am going to be ordering one soon for precautionary measures, but I do not think this is a 100% fool proof solution because it is a piece of plastic over the amp where water can still run off the sides and into the amp area. But the good thing is that water won't be able to exit the vent and go straight onto the open pcb on the amp.

What are ya'll doing to grt water in your Amp? You shouldn't be power washing inside the car. Lol

I know water can get down there from a careless tint installer, but this shouldn't really be a problem for most people.

Ah, never noticed. But I guess I don't spray down my wheel liners often.

My car went in for major service days ago and they said their was a recall fix. Believe it's a plastic part. They didn't confirm with me if it was actually installed or not, hope it was.

Wasn't the danger the passenger rear wheel well and pressure washers causing ingress?

The amp is located on the driver’s side rear wheel well/vent.
