All the magazines seem to suggest official reveal of the M2 CS to be in Geneva next year (March).

Why are we speculating an earlier official reveal ??

Wasn't there rumor about order books opening in January? That would happen after a reveal, no?

There's been no new news/speculation since the last 3-4 months.

In other news, the Porsche CEO just confirmed that the next 718 spyder will be naturally aspirated.

Will probably have the engine from the GT4. If that is priced close to the 60K mark which it mostly will and goes like the GT4 which it mostly will, the M2 CS will have to be really special.

The Spyder is most certainly not going to be 60k with the GT4, aka 911 Carrera S, motor. It will probably be slightly more expensive than the 718 GT4. Guessing mid 90s, but that's just a guess based on a GT4 price of 90k and the fact that Porsche finally adjusted their pricing scheme and made the Boxster more expensive than the Cayman. The 981 Spyder was 82k, which put it between the Cayman GTS and GT4, which was how Porsche priced the Boxster back then anyway (just under the Cayman).

But if the CS gets into that territory, it would be hard to justify.

I thought it'll pick up more steam as we got closer to reveal. Seems to be going the other way.

You are right. I meant close to 60K Pounds like the previous spyder. That would be mid 80K USD with the M2 CS expected to be around 75K USD (Although recent magazine articles say it will be closer to 60K USD). I don't think the spyder will be priced higher than the 718 GT4 whenever they comes out.

The GT4 would probably be ~90K with the spyder being around 85K - 87K. Porsche does not increase the prices of their cars too much. If you look at 981 Cayman to 718 Cayman, the difference is 3K. The 718 Cayman S is less than 3K costlier than the 981 Cayman S. I expect this to be more or less the same.

The GT4 is more expensive because it's complete front suspension is from the GT3 and the rear suspension was extensively reworked. Among other things, the engine was also rated 10 HP higher I think (or maybe 15 HP). If the next GT4/Spyder stick to the same formula, the prices should also remain similar.

The GT4 and M2 GTS (If it gets made) will probably come out at the same time. Will be very interesting if they are similarly priced.

What do you think you'll end up getting ??

Just got on my local porsche dealership's GT4 wait list at number 89.

I don't understand why Mazda won't just go to town on the Mazdaspeed Miata. Miata is a blast when given a bit more power. Ok, and wider tires, new suspension, and bigger brakes.

I'm pretty sure it's not coming. No time to develop it and all .. .. or at least that's what some have said.

Gatte I got excited about this Car Magazine article(bellow) until I saw they got the code name wrong. lol WTH!! But maybe some of their info is correct>? Maybe SCOTT26 has some words of wisdom. I think its really too early for any "real" news on the M2CS. And no... I don't think there is any chance of a GTS M2 model like R&T mentions bellow.

Revealed: the 2018 BMW M2 CS, codenamed F87
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-sho...t-drivers-car/

and...

To date I have heard nothing about the M2 GTS.
The M2 CS is coming but as I stated that the M4 CS has just been launched so they want to give it breathing space, same for the M2 LCI.

There is another M4 planned to further emulate the Porsche 911 series.
This will be towards the end of production.
