Things happen. This has happened at least 2-4 times before. E36 M3 went from 1995 M3 S50 to 1996-99 as S52. Reason? OBD-2 Z3M was S52 for 99-00 and changed to S54 from 01-02. Reason?? E90 330 changes to a 335 after ONE year. Reason? Turbo motors taking over the world. None of them had a major price jump. |

I was in this camp: Z3M was S52 for 99-00 and changed to S54 from 01-02. I had a 2000 M Roadster (240hp), and then the 2001 M Roadster jumped to 315hp. I don't think the price increase was more than $1k. |

Is that 110 lbs weight increase referring to the M2 Comp Pgk. Now that is the first disappointing news about it. Wouldn't that make the car heavier than the M3/M4? Seems strange. |

Weight went up from 1495kg (same weight as the 1M) to 1550kg for the 6MT M2 Competition, which means ±1575kg for the M-DCT M2 Competition. I'm surprised about the very mild price bump. Let's see where it lands price-wise when ticking boxes in the options list (seats [712], brakes [2NH], wheels [2QT or 29U], etc.).
