1% increase, I feel bad for the 2018 LCI people now. Though I still believe that the comp models are going to have all those nice little dealer markups all the 2016s had. I shall continue to enjoy my 2017.

But of course, that magazine could be wrong

I don't imagine the info is wrong.

Things happen.

This has happened at least 2-4 times before.

E36 M3 went from 1995 M3 S50 to 1996-99 as S52.

Reason? OBD-2

Z3M was S52 for 99-00 and changed to S54 from 01-02.

Reason??

E90 330 changes to a 335 after ONE year.

Reason? Turbo motors taking over the world.

None of them had a major price jump.

I was in this camp: Z3M was S52 for 99-00 and changed to S54 from 01-02.

I had a 2000 M Roadster (240hp), and then the 2001 M Roadster jumped to 315hp.
I don't think the price increase was more than $1k.

I remember the 330i change like it was yesterday, I was planning on getting that car as I was coming out of a 330ci at the time. I don't recall why I held out on it, but then they released the 335i and I thought 1) I'd be pissed if I had gotten the 330i 2) Never think a manufacturer won't do something, because (insert reasoning) 3) I need to join this forum to stay on top of things

I agree! As much as a M2 CSL would be the ultimate M2 and would love to have one, chances are it will be very limited and very expensive. Rather get spend another $20k and get a used GT3 at that point, no offense.

That is what I have been secretly hoping and holding on to. BMW has a history of upgrading engines, in some cases significantly, and not charging a whole lot more for it. Makes the M2 Comp Pkg an even greater bargain.

Is that 110 lbs weight increase referring to the M2 Comp Pgk. Now that is the first disappointing news about it. Wouldn't that make the car heavier than the M3/M4? Seems strange.

The reveal before the reveal! I have to say, it looks way better than the first leaked pics which looked like PS.

@Tag do you see the muffler now? Jk I think this is definitely a different muffler design than M3/M4 stock muffler (both zcp and non-zcp).

Hey hey hey. You’re hurting my feelings there.

Also, see how the M2 Competition has the entire competition word neatly tucked under the M2.

Seems that the M2 Competition FAQ put together by Tag and myself was/is fairly accurate.

Weight went up from 1495kg (same weight as the 1M) to 1550kg for the 6MT M2 Competition, which means ±1575kg for the M-DCT M2 Competition.

I'm surprised about the very mild price bump. Let's see where it lands price-wise when ticking boxes in the options list (seats [712], brakes [2NH], wheels [2QT or 29U], etc.).

The base price is very reasonable but I bet ticking boxes for those options won't be cheap.

After being offline since April 8, the BMW Blog in Slovenia is back with the story that started this thread.

Wonder why?
