Surely it cannot come from the factory like that? If so, it is ridiculous looking. Maybe they just did not close the hood completely??

Looks like they closed the hood. Probably just new pedestrian crash safety implementations

They should just force Ford to stop selling Mustangs to people. Then they wouldn't need to worry about drivers hitting pedestrians.

Autumn 17... huh... and it wasnt until in September that the VINs came out.... so... how did you know ?

And since you apparently have news a year early ... what can you tell us about an M2 CSL.
Perhaps I should go on record again ...
For the record: an excerpt of an M2 Competition VIN leaked in August 2017, but back then still unidentified (see here). A series of VINs surfaced late September 2017 (see here) and January 2018 (see here). I was definitely not involved in those VIN leaks. But I did notice those leaks surfacing. And with those leaked VINs, retrieving more VINs was very easy (simply run leaked VINs through a public BMW VIN decoder and decrease/increase the last numbers in a logical order) (see here).

Back in February 2016 I expected BMW M to reveal the "M2 CS" by Autumn 2017. IMHO that name and timing made sense back then (and probably I was not the only one). Now it's Spring 2018 and the "M2 Competition" is imminent. Name and timing don't matter. What matters is properly developing the car, ensuring that it can live up to its high expectations. And of course don't forget that there were also for example the M4 CS and M3 CS that got their presentation moment and breathing space in the meantime.

Hardcore M2: let's just assume that it won't happen. With such approach we avoid disappointment + can shout a 'cheerio' if released.
I find it quite interesting that you determined that a heretofore unknown model would arise a year before it occurred , and not only that , you almost got the name correct ?

That my friend is * Impressive * clairvoyance , Mr Bimmerpost moderator !

Or else ???

@gatte and @ ///W will remember that my comment then was NO WAY NEVER.

Clearly I didn't factor in or anticipate EUROPEAN legal requirements although I am aware that US CAFE requirements appear to be what caused the 1M to have only a single year model run.
It's alright man. You'll be wrong again about the manual transmission further progress car.

Only difference is it probably won't take another 2.5 years for you to be wrong again.
Probably not. But I guess I can have faith that bmw might be listening. After all. They apparently care about mirrors and m seats ... guess we fans of the 6MT need to start talking about old school "M" heritage transmissions ... :

For me the M4 seats really didn't give much extra support on track at all. I'm tall and for me the M2 seats fits me better to start with and I really didn't feel any noticable extra support in the M4 seats on track. And Bilster Berg is a crazy twisty hilly thing where you do need seat support hahaha.

Again, I am tall and this is both a matter of your indiviudal build and also individual taste of how a seat should support you best.

Nothing yet, although there’s no mention of the M2 Competition in BMW’s press materials for Beijing: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1485167. The car is probably a hoax ...

... or maybe it’s just so cool that BMW is planning an exclusive event to unveil it.

Can you imagine the uproar if the car doesn't debut in two weeks?

If I were BMW, I’d wait until some random day in May, just to screw with all the “experts” here and around the world who think they know what’s going on.

Maybe no one should listen to my opinion on the seats I've been happily track driving since 2000 in slippery all leather NON supportive Vadar seats in my M3 Limo (the Vadars were ALL looks). Most of my friends in this hobby hate driving on the track like this with nice g-force generating semi slicks and original slippery leather seats. But I'm fine with it. I do appreciate proper racing seats and I loved my CSL seats being proper bucket seats with just a teeny bit of extra street friendliness thrown in. But seats giving some minor extra support that really does nothing when on semi slicks and less comfort, nope. But that's me

I have a M2 LCI that I received last December. The arrival of the M2c does not cause me any regret, but I do like several things about this new version:
* its more powerful engine, obviously.
* Its optional M-seats
* Its M-mirrors!
* Its new colors, even if LBB remains my favorite.

The noise of the S55 doesn't bother me. In fact, I'm maybe an alien, because I like its low-frequency metallic sound.

The improvement of 0.1s for the 0-100km/h is really not much, but I guess that the improvement is significantly better for the 0-200km/h, of 1s at the very least. As I don't track my car, I don't care much, but it's still good to see BMW doing its best to keep the M2 at the same performance level than its competitors (RS3, A-AMG, Cayman S).

I prefer the chrome (vs black) and smaller front kidneys of my car, but I don't find the new face of the M2c awful. The new kidneys clearly make the M2c look even more different from any other 2-series, and more aggressive.

The main issue I see with my M2 LCI is its suspension: it is constantly hopping on bumpy roads, which is uncomfortable (don't eat too much before driving a M2 on Belgium roads!) but also makes the car have weird and sometimes unpredictable reactions when driving fast on a road that is not perfectly smooth. It doesn't make it really dangerous, just not precise enough to my taste (the blurry direction doesn't help either). Having watched many reviews of the M2, it is clearly a consensus that the suspension is the main flaw of the car. I really hope that BMW solved the issue with the M2c.

On a personal note, I love my brand new M2 too much to replace it with a M2c, but I ordered the M-performance coilover suspension to improve its behavior on bumpy roads and lower it a bit ... and I will definitely install the M-mirrors of the M2c to make it look like a real M-car

The 0-60 times BMW will published will actually be inaccurate because BMW will not want to step on its big brothers toes (BMW M4/m3) on paper.

Real world 0-60 will be better, probably the same if not quicker than M4.

C'mon, it was merely the article pictured below that caught my attention.

See my February 2016 post kicking off one of the lengthy M2 variant threads: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5#post19427255.
