It's a problem with the simplified "ASD off" command in Bimmercode, not sure what it does but seems to mess it up properly.
All you need to do to turn off ASD is select another engine for example, n55, that makes it stop working. Then reselect S55 if you want it back on. Easy. To re code it properly you could use a full set of "expert" settings from a working car. Ill try to get them at the weekend if i can. |

Right, here they are, screenshots of my working ASD in expert mode.
(sorry they are so big, didn't have time to resize them all!) Image 1 is the list of 8 headings in expert mode, then 8 more images 1 for each setting page. This is as per re-coding in Esys, so back to factory - some setting seem odd - but that is how Esys programmed them and it works great now and didn't work previously. My country setting is ECE, yours will be US I assume? I also have HK hifi. Give it a try.... |

Easy Entry Stopped Working
I activated easy entry with Bimmercode in expert mode. It worked for about a day and then completely stopped working (seat doesn't move). I re-checked the code and it is still aktiv.
Any ideas? |

I finally tried the full version:
1. Turned off fake engine noise. Nice 2. Turned on the folding mirrors when using the fob or comfort access. Pointless party trick IMO. My wife likes it though. Now CarPlay is broken. 😑 I'm guessing that it "codes" over whatever was there previously. I'll have to play around with it more tomorrow. EDIT: CarPlay magically works now AND my parking sensors started working again for a few minutes (haven't worked since day 2 of ownership a year ago.) Not going to complain about it. Glad to have CarPlay back. |

Does anyone know how to code in the rear view camera to activate at any speed? Bimmercode only provides a distance threshold and a speed threshold that is currently unassigned in my car.

This would be esys correct? I really would like to have the camera turn and off as always and function as it already does where it turns itself off after a few meters but I want to have the ability to turn it on while driving at any moment. Is this possible? thx

I really don't like the way the car locks my fuel filler door on my 2021 M2C when I lock the doors. Is there any way to change this? I don't like leaving my doors unlocked when I go to fill up.

Just lock the doors after you've opened the filler flap if you can put down the AK47 and RPG launcher 😂 Is there a car made in the last 10 years that doesn't lock the filler with the door lock?? How else would it lock the filler? |

I've never had a car that has a lock on the filler door at all. Thanks for the "help" though I guess.

Just joking..
Seriously what car have you had that doesn't lock the filler flap other than old cars where you lock the filler cap itself with the ignition key? Admittedly some cars have an internal release to open the flap before you get out but you still have to lock the doors if that worries you. But |

I've never had a car that locks it at all. I think the whole lock is a little ridiculous.
And I've had all new Ford's, Mitsubishi's, Mazdas, dodge. |

Bimmercode
Is Bimmercode safe to use? Could it be used to void my warranty if dealer notices specific codes? Would love to know everyone’s thoughts on this.
Thank you in advance! |

I've used it as have many others with no noticeable issues. However, there are plenty of cases mentioned across forums of members cars being bricked during component changing (new idrive under warranty for example), where the dealer has resorted to asking for payment to change other modules due to 'corrupt code'. These are not low cost items either. Most professional coders say they could have reinstated the module through coding, but the dealers don't have that ability, the only option for them is component replacement. By the way, some of those bricking events are nothing to do with external coding, they might have happened anyway, but because of coding tamper flags are no longer covered under warranty.

There is also one forum member who claims his dealer will use Bimmercode to code your car (although I'm skeptical). Regardless, your mileage may vary depending on the dealer. I haven't seen any of the Bimmercode bricking modules scenarios, but I didn't look for them. I think it's unlikely if you stay in easy mode and have a strong battery (voltage fluctuations during coding have an impact). I am pretty risk adverse, but feel comfortable with Bimmercode (at least easy mode). If I had a serious warranty issue, I might consider reverting to a backup before bringing it into the dealer. But I tend to avoid the dealer if possible and prefer to use a BMW independent for routine maintenance. |

Generally speaking, yes it's safe, but as with anything in life there is some risk. If you were to code and have the process fail because of a connection issue or something there is a chance you would need to visit the dealer for an istep update to overwrite any bugs in the car's code. This has happened to me once, they gave me a slap on the wrist and updated my car for free and just said if it happened again they'd charge me $150. Nothing mentioned about the warranty so in my experience coding is a non-issue. My dealer is aware of all my mods but every dealer is different and some people may consider coding to be a breach of warranty. As far as enforcing that, I have no idea if they can. Worst case scenario you could always go to a third-party shop or a coder that knows what they're doing if you encountered an issue and needed an update, it doesn't have to be a dealership.
Long story short: You can/should use it in my opinion. It has some great features. I've only had one hiccup in 4 years and have coded a ton of things that make the car better/easier to live with. |

Like jkoral, I'm pretty conservative. But I have used BimmerCode on a couple of occasions on my F30 335 and my OG M2.
For the M2 I coded off the warming check on the rear indicators so the annoying rapid flash and rear indicator error would stop. After a month or so when I had to drop it off at the dealer for oil change, I undid that coding so I could replicate the issue before dropping it off. They replaced the REM and never mentioned coding or compromising my warranty, so take that for what it is worth...
