Car and Driving M2 Review (Full)
'Car & Driving' recently published their M2 review.
They don't have a youtube channel which is a shame because their videos are quite in depth. Just finished watching the 40 minute full review, link below: Contents: 00:00 - Overview 00:31 - Background 03:21 - Driving Experience 13:30 - Design & Build 22:44 - Market Model and Range 33:23 - Cost of Ownership 37:05 - Summary Stream: http://f6.caranddriving.com/videos/3...BMWM2_2016.mp4 Download (958Mb): 'Right click... save as' on link above. Good video, well presented, especially as general introduction to the M2. But could have been shorter.
Also agree with his point (25:30): "In terms of sheer driving satisfaction, an M2 would win your vote anytime, if you've even (got) an ounce of gasoline running through your veins. It's a motorsport engineered road racer, rather than merely a very fast road-going performance car. Now, if you don't appreciate the difference between those two things, then we'd suggest you'd buy either that Audi (RS3) or the Mercedes (A45 AMG), because the charms of this BMW will probably be lost on it". However, after some time it almost starts to sound as a long BMW commercial ('infomercial') or a glowing BMW dealer talking you into an M2 without reserve. Wait, before you think that someone spiked my tea: the journalist seemed to be genuinely enthusiastic for all the right reasons, but IMHO some extra personal input (thus apart from what can be read in the M2 press release and M2 Technical Training) and tackling a bit more a couple of negatives (instead of "it's this way, but, hey, that's OK") would have made the review a little more balanced. 04:54: "7000 rpm redline" | 18:05: "a rev counter reading up to 8000 rpm". That must have been sourced from the M2 Technical Training doc (see the manuals sticky: here): it shows by mistake an 8K rpm rev counter picture and quotes: "The following M-specific changes exist in comparison to the F2X: speed and engine speed display correspond to the drive concept (300 km/h in 30 km scale divisions, 8,000 rpm)". M2 Technical Training doc (page 64): 8500 rpm: Reality: 7500 rpm

The most comprehensive review I have seen. He contradicts himself on weight a couple of times but other than that this seems well supported by facts.
