I forget if I mentioned in this thread already so I'll post again I guess. I used a small piece of vynl wrap on the rear red reflectors. I chose a dark semi transparent black so the reflectors still reflect red when light is shined directly on them but still generally appear black in normal lighting.

Autoid has pre-cut overlays for the rear reflectors that are exactly as you described. Great fit too!

I have a pair of the honey combs from acexxon that I never got around to installing. I might try to sell them and go this route for an easier/lazier way to get the same look.
