bootmod3: Direct ENET cable support for iOS/Android (BETA)
Hey guys,
Wanted to share a quick announcement on the upcoming app/system update. Public beta of the new app with the embedded OBD Agent starting soon. This version of the app will allow for a direct cable connection of the ENET cable to your iOS device (iPhone, iPad). We’re just waiting on Apple to approve the beta build for testing and do some test runs internally with it and we’ll start adding in external/public testers. To test with us you need to have a bm3 license already, ENET cable and an ethernet to lightning adapter (adapter to connect ethernet end of the ENET cable to your iPhone/iPad). If you're on facebook check out the bootmod3 enthusiasts group for further details/updates.

Any chance android will support this? I know it's pretty hardware dependent.
You mention Android in the title, just nothing about app availability. |

Or make it compatible with high quality Bluetooth adapters like the obdlink stuff.

bootmod3 beta for Android for direct OBD/ENET cable connection to the car with the embedded OBD Agent is now available! iOS Beta has gone really well and all the work done there has gone into the updates for the Android version as well.
Click on the link below to download the app or search the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/apps/testing...ootmod3.mobile *** NOTE: With a laptop (macOS and Windows) as well as iOS devices a user can plug in the ENET cable and have the connection to the car as well as keep their internet connection alive via 3G/4G/5G/LTE which makes things super easy. However, on Android 😞, unless you make the changes outlined in screenshots below, it allows ONLY one connection at a time. This means once you plug in the ENET cable to your phone/tablet the internet connection will close. For this reason, to use the Android app, you'd log in and download the map you'd like the flash using the "download now, flash later" option first. Then, hook up the ENET cable to the phone/tablet and flash it. To get the Android device to keep your mobile data (internet) and ENET cable connection alive ensure to follow instructions in the screenshots attached (this was done on Android 10):

Bluetooth is way too slow and unreliable. Other apps that use it don't have the ability to flash via bluetooth or in some cases no flashing ability at all for their apps and they just do diagnostics/logging with them.

BM3
I am generally satisfied with power my 18 M2 has with Catted Dp and Intercooler upgrade for my Tack days. However I would love to have Rev-Match with DSC off for my 6 speed manual. Is this possible with BM3. I would buy it for that alone if possible.

I'm pretty sure that's possible with the new bm3 update, they had another thread talking about it.

That's an available config option for all BM3 maps.

Bought an adapter, followed the instructions, connection was up, flash failed using Galaxy s10+ (android). Will try again. I previously had flashed using my laptop.
Tried datalogging on my phone and the logs aren't saving. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Wasted 3 hours of my life today trying to get the iPhone BM3 App to see the OBD Agent. Tried everything I found in this and other threads but no luck. My iPhone works for everything else so I'm going to assume it's good (probably a mistake!). The cables are all good (enet to OBD works fine with a laptop, no issue with the laptop running the agent and connecting to Bootmod3.net) which leaves me with the RPi3B...
It there a way to run or test the RPi other than having it connect to the App? I download the agent software and flashed it to the SD card 4 different times with new SD cards and using both Win32DiskImager and Etcher (windows version). The RPi3 seems to power up just fine, red and green lights and the green and orange light either side of the enet port are flashing or constant but it can't see/find the iPhone's hotspot Wi-Fi (yes, I changed the SSID and password) or when it's tethered. Guess I'll order another one.
