Sadly I'm not doing a European Delivery, but i wish. I have received a production number for it with a confirmed production week of week 27 which puts it at June 29 - July 5. To your point AVM, I was surprised to see a production week that early given everything going on. My dealer told me this was their first allocation for a 21.
Impressive, I think you're the first non-ED order that has received a production date.

Visited my dealer and placed an order 5/2 and it automatically went into his system as a 2021 with blocked information and no confirmed production time frame. My Sales rep also found a 2020 allocation in case that was going to be produced earlier. This had a production number until 5/15 then it was no longer recognized by the system. My sales rep told me from his understanding BMW was in the process of determining whether to start the 2021 production early; supposedly a lot of ambiguity around this subject he said. Fast forward to today, just received a confirmation from him for a 2021 with a confirmed production of (yr/mo/wk) 2020/07/27. So it sounds like dealers are starting to get their allocations for the 2021's now. Now to "patiently" wait until July.
On that basis mine may also be a 2021 car (production starting 6th July) . Going to be quite a thing given production for Europe ends in September,so I may have one of the few 2021 cars in the UK and one of the last produced!

Well done, that looks fantastic! There is some satisfaction to be had from washing a beautiful car. I haven't had time (or care) to wash any car since my e46, but I enjoy washing the M2. I suspect the 718 is equally easy (besides those awesome wheels) and fulfilling.

Man, every time I see you car I wanna go get me one! Glad you got your M2 back, enjoy in good health!!

A few follow-up comments and questions . . .

The M2C is a really fun car that has already succeed in satisfying the ‘hooligan’ in me. The ass-end ALWAYS wants to play. In addition to whatever else is done at ‘break-in’ service, I am pretty sure it will require a new set of tires as well. . . and probably a switch from PS to PS4S.

Speaking of ‘break-in period,’ I have no idea how anyone possibly drives an M2C 1,200 miles while keeping it under 5,500 RPMs? I sure as hell have not had ANY success. Before I get my hand slapped by the ‘break-in period’ police, I am a big boy and make my own shift point decisions. . . let us just cordially leave it at that.

I have not fully evaluated all the performance options. Kind of randomly set M1 and M2 buttons at:

M1: DSC, SPORT, SPORT, SPORT
M2: DSC, SPORT+, SPORT+ and SPORT+

M1 always comes on in DCT automatic mode. With a flip of the shifter I am back at home with DCT manual mode. In contrast, M2 always comes on in DCT manual mode.

I do not know how to purposefully control DCT modes (automatic vs manual) corresponding to the M1 or M2 buttons?

Finally, is there a way to show oil and coolant temperatures on the computer screen, or somewhere easily visible to me? Despite my ambivalence regarding break-in period RPMs, I ALWYS make sure my vehicle fluids are warmed up before winding the piss out of it. I have not figured out how to display the oil and coolant temperatures? I also do not know what temperatures correspond to ‘adequately warmed up’ with the M2C?

Could someone give a brother a little help with questions posed?

Gracias!

For M modes - page 157-158. For engine/oil temp display, page 129. No way to show coolant temp.

Reading the manual helps a lot with these questions.

Thank you Scout . . . not only for your feedback, but also for not flagging me with the

That stated, I did read the manual and could not find how to display oil and coolant temperatures on the computer screen. You answered the coolant temperature question, and I am under the impression the oil temperature reading is limited to the instrument cluster. . . and does not offer an actual temperature. Cool, and thank you for helping me put that particular topic to rest.

Even after going back into the owners manual, I am still unclear how to control DCT manual vs automatic mode with the M1 and M2 buttons? It is most likely the settings I chose within each mode, e.g., all SPORT with M1 and all SPORT+ with M2???

Need a little member expertise on this one, please.

Yes

You can set the M1 and M2 to manual (S mode) in iDrive. You do not need to use the default settings. You can set the buttons to be anything you want.

Temp: Hit the BC button on the left stalk once and you'll get to temp display on the dash in front of you. I leave it at that always so I can know when to hit the M2 button.

Yeah, I dont know how people commute in this car. It really comes alive post-5k rpm

Hey brother no worries at all. It's the whole teach a man to fish thing.... one thing I will say about the manual for this car, it is pretty extensive and in depth.

Something else to note, you can customize what shows up when you hit the BC button, via the iDrive. There's a bunch of fuel economy crap I took out of there in order to give me fewer clicks when cycling between oil temp and the digital speedo, which are the only two displays i habitually use.

Well, I am oddly smitten with the Competition side mirrors. They are cool as hell.

Here is another fun fact; depending region and which side of the gas tank filler is on, there is arrow in the instrument cluster, to indicate its location.

That might come in handy, if you ever have to jump bail, run to another country, without extradition and then gets a car that has the gas filler, on the other side. Might save you a bunch of confusion.

Hypothetical speaking, of course

That is actually a pretty standard feature on all cars.

Speaking of fuel, one thing I can already tell you is going to be a huge pain in my ass is the fact that the M2C consumes the petrol at an unparalleled rate.

Oh, ironic, you flipped the switch and taught me something instead. I thought that was exclusively a BMW thing.. ☺️

Yea, I could imagine at high RPMs, it must guzzle gas. I mean, it has two high-pressure fuel pumps, so I'm sure that was the intention but being that the gas tank was recycled from the standard F22, they didn't properly cater to the overall supply.
