Me too but not a penny more.

Of course it's a BMW. Which means as usual, it can provide 95 percent of the performance of a Porsche for around 75-80 percent of the price, so I don't expect an M2 CS to be more than about $67k plus perhaps CCB and paint choice as the only option. If they Make it under $75k and it'll be in my garage.
Well there is a good chance that the CSL will be less expensive than a GT4 but that's only if BMW decide not to go to such extremes as they did with the GTS, or similar limited numbers. IMO they will leave the gts as the halo M car and approach the CSL with a alternative philosophy, which I'd be so happy about. Less weight, CCB optional, carbon roof, alcantara interior, tasteful (integrated) aero, more power and colors colors colors.

If I'm completely wrong the CSL will be a mini GTS and cost more than the GT4.

The mini CSL will be called the M2 CS

I don't know about the M4 CS, but it seems like that will slow in between the ZCP and GTS model too.

"L" in "CSL" stands for "Leichtbau" ("lightweight" or "light construction").

M2 sporting an S55 engine: sure, BMW M can shave off quite some weight, but not enough (without significantly reworking the car) to righteously deserve the moniker "lightweight".

CSL minus L = CS.

I agree with this. Weight savings will come the easy way.

Carbon fiber roof
Light weight battery
Same seats but manual
No nav and other fancy things
Possible titanium exhaust but I doubt it.

That's good for what? 100-150lbs?

Basically how the M2 should have came in the first place.

I don't believe in a CS. There is no market for it.

I'm not sure on the authenticity of that VDMA bulletin but when they refer to a bi-turbo I reckon they mean twin-scroll turbo. I really can't see them fitting a S55 into a M2 (GTS maybe).

The 330ci CS was a bit of a joke. It had no extra power just different alloys, splitter, a rear wing and came in 3 colours. They removed some sound deadening from the engine bay and then gave it electric seats as standard lol

The M3 CS was a good car but classed as a poor mans CSL (all the best bits from the CSL with the exception of the weight savings).

A large cost in the CSL is due to the components used to make the weight-savings and this is what transforms the car.

If BMW don't think the car deserves the letters CSL that's saying something.

It's CSL or nothing for me.

How many of you guys are actually on a waiting list ?

The source that claims to have spoken last year to the test driver who drove an M2 featuring an S55 engine, posted earlier this week that the M2 sibling is already built/ready (source: here).

If true, then the M2 base version and M2 sibling have been developed at the same time (as also repeatedly hinted by Scott26 - see the first post of this thread), with the sibling being the M2 Director's Cut.

I'm not doubt but rooting for a csL!

There has been 0 info about the CSL (I'm not counting Scott btw). When I mean CSL, I probably mean the production version of the GT6 with all the crazy aero.

The CS essentially is "just" an M2 with an S55. That is way more far along than some of you guys think, whereas we haven't seen a hint of the CSL yet. Keep in mind, the car will only be made for another 4 years, so if they don't start soon (aka mules), I wouldn't expect to see it. As much as it pains to me to say...

Again, there won't be a "CS" or in between version as you're suggesting. I don't care what letters you give this proposed model but it is happening right now and it'll be balls to the walls and expensive.

If you've seen what I've seen, you wouldn't think that. Let's just leave at that and sees what happens officially

Well, true that we don't know for sure yet. Hence the cautious "rumor" reference in the thread title.

But as you righteously suggest, if some other M2 cat comes out of the BMW M bag (MY2018 ?), we may reasonably expect it to be pretty expensive and hard to get. Out of reach for most mere mortals like us. But hey, we will have at least some nice pictures and videos of it over here.

I think we're both talking about the same car but 2 different abbreviations

Stuff an S55, Carbon roof and CCB... call it a day

I've paid a deposit for a #1 slot on a CS/CSL waiting list. They seem to have no problem getting low production cars. I'm hopeful that it all works out.

W/// Are you in Greer, SC??? I'd be curious to know what you have seen?

I am indeed in Greer. And I need to stop sitting on my ass and start putting deposits down, just in case. That's all I'm going to say

Cut weight with: titanium exhaust, low weight battery, carbon roof, hood and so on, race seats and light back seats and add the carboceramic and larger Cup 2 tires.I know, I know the price will be at least in Europe 40.000 euro more at the end, but what you would get in change?
the empty weight would be close to 1350 kg (similar to the Gt4 ) with 430 hp weighting at least 200 kg less than a M4 .I think that this car with the same carbo brakes of the M4 but at least 200 kg less could really deliver soooo strong performances and become something that Porsche will not like too...
Those specs would be drool worthy, but I seriously can't see a whole 100kg being stripped from the M2?

I'll be honest. I don't want a stripped GT car.

CF hood, roof, trunk, lightweight battery, manual leather seats, possibly a fiberglass rear seat. (no need for sexy CF if you can't see it.)

I'd like to have a heated steering wheel, and heated seats.

It's more than just removing weight. It's lowering the center of mass at the same time. Combine that with the ability to run wider tires, and you've got something. Then add a little power to take advantage of the extra balance.

I also don't want to crawl under the car to adjust dampers. Push button please.

City traffic has pushed me to want DCT. Breaks my heart, but traffic is no fun. Not a deal breaker though.
