Personally, I sold my e36 M3 in anticipation of the M2.
Upon discovering that BMW decided that all M2's would come with blue brakes, blue interior stitching and blue stitching on the steering wheel (ALL OF WHICH DON'T MATCH) I have put my replacement on hold. Of course, that has opened the door to keep waiting on a special edition which I am now willing to do. My wishlist would include. A CF hood, roof and trunk along with other carbon weight saving goodies. Mechanical seats (But still heated) maybe a little bit of aero goodies to stand out in the crowd. some fancy LW wheels. and I am pretty good, why add power when you can lose some weight and not only be faster but corner and stop faster without doing anything with the brakes and suspension. |

Hi to everyone...
I am an old member and I don't write here since 2010...On november 2009 I started a thread with this title: "M3 GTS info" simply because I was an huge CSL fanatic (since my first M3 e46). Six years ago I was waiting for the E92 CSL that at the end never arrived...and so I decided to move somewhere else buying a Gt3 after my M3 e92 . But now I am back waiting for an M2 as a daily car (I will get mine in the same Country as for Mr. MR.). I am really excited by this car and can't believe that next year one CSL version could be released.Finally. What a dream and what a satisfaction to write here again after so long time...(sorry for my poor English, it is clearly not my first language)

Makes sense if they decide to go this route if they do actually make it - S55, some proper weight savings, perhaps the F80/82 comp pack wheels?
Less colors would be my guess as well, but something different than the 4 available for the base M2. A proper red?

The only thing that won't make sense will be the hefty price tag. I'm beginning to believe this will be over 80k in the UK. So much for keeping it within the reach of enthusiasts

Not sure of the source of memo but translation says BMW to produce a limited production M2 CSL end 2017. 6 speed manual. So pure speculation at this stage but let's hope true

Especially if there's a dedication to weight savings - hell, even the current power output would be fine if they could get this thing down to 3300 pounds or whatever the E46 CSL weighed.

BMW developed a production version of its model M2 CSL, which should be light and strong. The vehicle, equipped with a 3.0 litre Twin-Turbo petrol engine, and a 6-speed transmission , as a limited edition on the market come end of 2017 Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 03-07-2016 at 05:14 PM.. |
