A st1 turbo like the tte 460 makes no sense in my eyes because the stock EWG stock can already push 450-460HP with good fueling. A st2 turbo car can do low 7s or even mid to high 6s 100-200 with the right mods, tune and fuel.

You can't call TTE460 a stg1 just because it's not big enough for the power goal you're looking at. Following that logic, there is no stg2 that is not a pure Stage 2.

Traditionally, anything touching turbine side qualifies for a stg2.

So TTE550 over TTE460 ??

If going to effort/expense of a turbo swap you'd want an upgrade that works to remove stock turbo limitations at mid/top end but keeps stock responses / attributes at the low to mid range.

In addition if you went the whole hog in time - PI, LPFP, HPFP and meth - the turbo has the capacity to take full advantage of these add-ons.

Does such a turbo upgrade exist ?

The TTE460 was developed back then for PWG N55 turbo and is a nice upgrade for these cars - its not a real upgrade for EWG cars in my eyes.
And the M2 turbo is even better than on standard ewg cars (exhaust manifold / turbine wheel)

I would take the PS2 if a upgraded turbo is wanted / needed - boost lag is not that bad and has great top end power.

I might have missed it, but any update on those definition files? I'd be down for .kp if .xdk isn't ready.

So stock it made 354/381 a year ago. Bone stock. Same dyno. Same fuel.
I have a catless dp, bms intake, muffler delete, and intercooler.

Here is the sheet

So 14hp increase for stage 2+?

Here is my stock sheet, and my old jb4 sheet numbers.

So I realize it's hard to read,
But stock it made 354/388
Jb4 map 0 365/409
Map 1 392/449
Map 2 381/452

Ima see if I can find those papers to take a picture of them.

If I'm reading this right

Stock 354/388
Bolt-ons + Jb4 map 1 - 392/449 = gains over stock of 38/61 flatter power peak for longer past 6k rpm
Same bolt-ons + MHD Stage2+ - 368/422 = gains over stock of 14/34 and power peaking before 6k rpm

Sorry but reads like you are going backwards switching from jb4 to MHD.

If you still have jb4 then could MHD 91 Oct BEF c/w JB4 maps to control boost be a step up in the right direction perhaps ?

our 91/95 map is very safe with lower timing than stock, the jb4 will only add boost to the very aggressive stock map.
our stage 2+ e20 / 95oct maps should do easily 400whp+.

do a datalog from your actual tune, we will review it and maybe there is room to go with the 93/98 map.

This was my stock M2 log 4 days old, didn't rev out past 5500rpm.
Timing climbs to 10 and boost starts at 12 going to around 14 to redline

with maps 93/98 how many hp are available? If you change the turbo, would it be better to make a custom map? Thanks

Our St2+ 98ron should do around 400whp on a dynojet.
Yes a custom map is always best if you run a big turbo.

MHD F-Series v1.0

revised maps for all engines:
  • M3 / M4 all new maps with smoother power delivery.
  • N55 reworked timing curves.
  • M2 reworked timing curves + less power loss with IAT rising.

New features and fixes:
  • added N13 engine support and stage 1, stage 2 OTS maps (beta)
  • new flash option: power limiter per gear.
  • new flash option: exhaust flap open in sport mode.
  • new flash option: oem / catted dp.
  • added the new log channel "boost target EX" which can read higher than 22.x psi (the BMW boost target channel can't).
  • added support for early f10/f25 that were running the original old ROM.
  • fixed the lambda target log channel.

The next app update will contain a fix for the 3rd / 6th gear torque limiter issue some 8 speed automatic N55s have.
We will add a flash option for the XDI / TTFS high pressure fuel pump and integrate our PureTurbos Stage 2 OTS maps (BETA) - stay tuned.

And then we can start to develop MHD exclusive features by extending the DME functionalities. We have several special features in development that will follow in the upcoming months.

What does the new flash option: oem / catted dp do?

It re-enables the cat testing procedures and lets you pass emission tests. Does not change anything else or perf

I think MHD should have a more complete changelog.

Not sure what the flap option does in traction and all-off mode. Is it Sport or Sport+ as well?
