Active Autowerke Signature Exhaust Waiver?

I'm looking at this for my M2C:

https://store.activeautowerke.com/co...19375302180975

However, I notice they link a waiver they want you to sign and return that says you will only use it on a car for "racing off road competition only." Is that for real? Does anyone have this system? Is it that loud or what's going on with that waiver?

New laws have been passed on modifying emissions control equipment. They are just covering themselves to avoid fines in the future.

I figured it was likely some kind of CYA situation driven by legal concerns. Do you have one of these on your M2C? Anyone know if these are just bolt on or do they require welding?

You must be new to modding. Standard crap for any exhaust or even intake mod these days. No worries.

I have the Active Autowerke midpipe mated up to the Remus Axleback. If you get the full Active Autowerke exhaust it bolts right up with no cutting or welding.

What made you go the Remus route instead of the full Active Autowerke signature exhaust? Has anyone ever installed it themselves (the AA signature)?

I purchased the Remus axleback first and decided to get the midpipe after.

I have the full signature exhaust. Love it, loud when the flaps are open in Sport+ and no drone when closed and cruising on the highway.

That's awesome! I want to get that one for sure. Did you do the install yourself? If so, how'd that go?

No I had a shop do it and I recommend having a shop do it unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself. The reason I say so is because the exhaust is fitted "tight". Obviously it is designed for the car but the tolerances are tight and well fit, so it requires so adjusting at the end which is much easier on a lift.

How much did the shop charge for the install if you don't mind me asking? I've got access to a lift for like $8 an hour, so depending, I may DIY.

I don't think it'll be that difficult. I did the Remus in my garage just using a quick jack (half lift) and that exhaust requires cutting. My suggestion would be to line up the rear of the exhaust first when tightening then work your way towards the front of the car.

Over $100 for a proper install. Do it yourself at the place where you rent a lift for $8. Give yourself around 2-3 hours of time. Make sure you have a second person for help lifting/lower the stock exhaust. If I had a lift I'd do it myself. The instructions AA gives you are very useful. Also make sure you shim the exhaust off the center brace like the instructions say and make sure it has a gap when the install is complete or it will hit and vibrate your car on the center brace. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Also it's very difficult to fit the stock exhaust in the back of the M2 after install. Even with it cut up a bit the muffler is hard to fit so I'd bring a second car to bring home the stock exhaust.

This is great advice and thank you! I wouldn't have thought about that part and would have been sitting at the shop puzzling over what to do next.

Does installing the AA signature exhaust throw a CEL?

Not from what I've researched. Owners chime in if you know differently.

No, also Active Autowerks teased a new M2 competition exhaust on their Ig today. I'd sit and wait to see more

No that I doubt you, but what makes you think it is a new exhaust vs their current? Maybe downpipes?

Interesting. Do you have a link or what did they say about it?

Because AA commented that it's a new exhaust
