The only one before that BMW is attending is Shanghai in April, but Scott already confirmed it will not be there.

Back in 2017, already late March, M2 test mules were spotted lapping 'The Ring' (see the dedicated thread here). So IMHO it's very likely that M2 CS test mules will be lapping 'The Ring' in the (very) near future. Won't take months for spotter videos to surface.

Sorry, I don't know what FOS refers to.

BMW has taken to these extremely long gestation periods for new models - it just makes me tired, not excited.

Also side note: since the CS car is meant to have a carbon roof, they even supposedly have the same M performance parts as the comp couldn't they start installing them at factory for the comp model instead of the dealership? (If a BMW employee is reading this can you guys do that please!) |

The thing with weight reduction is it's like adding horsepower throughout the rpm range.
A 3450lbs car losing 230lbs would be like gaining 30hp across the board. Here's the math for it: http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/...-weight-ratio/ I was looking more into this last night. Back seat - 56lbs Sportster CS front seats - 66lbs Carbon brakes - 18.5lbs Carbon hood - 19.8lbs Carbon trunk - 13.2lbs Carbon Fenders - 6.6lbs Liteblox battery - 48lbs That's 228lbs right there. But the issue comes at cost. Are $12k for carbon brakes worth it for that weight? Same with carbon hood, trunk, etc. Oh, M2CS could use a lithium ion battery instead (which the m3/m4 use) that's a 30lbs weight reduction from the standard M2 battery. I think the liteblox battery costs the same as it though, so better to go with liteblox. Just doing the seats and battery seems like the most cost efficient weight reduction. |

They aren't going to produce an F87 M2 CSL. They probably will for the G series. |

I think they might produce the CSL after the CS and only the CSL will be limited in production and will be very expensive because it will be an instant collectors car. The M2 is the most "involving and true M car today" if you will, and it makes sense to reintroduce the CSL badge with this model. Both the G80 M3 and M8 will have both CS and CSL models. I believe M is gonna follow Porsche and make many iterations of their models to boost volumes and profitability of Ms leveraging each platform. That's my prediction.

I think it suits some colors better than others - where the contrast is "nicer" - not so much on SO, but looks pretty good on AW and HS.

I'm guessing there has to be an aero advantage to it somewhere. Otherwise it looks a bit like trying too hard in the style department. Let me tell you who isn't going to benefit from any added stability from this choice..... This guy. I just don't approach that limit on or off track. I wish my driving skills matched my bench racing skills
