I can't beat him up to much. It's already the cheapest m2 in the state without the after market stuff.

It's a nice ride. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Agreed. I'm assuming it's bolted down too. So you'll have to either patch the holes and repaint the trunk, or replace the whole trunk..

Perfect reason to go for the lightweight CF tailgate and save 13 lbs. Part #2460277

Those brakes alone are like 10k, never mind the 6k+ in Dinan parts. I think it's a killer deal for 54. I'd jump on it if it were 6MT and I didn't already have one.

While I agree, the brakes also introduce some pretty large maintenance costs when they need replacement.

Can always sell them and use the money for a different bbk or just ditch the car before they need to be replaced. Assuming you aren't tracking the car they should last a while.

I'm reading that the CCBs should go well past 60k miles. That's assuming articles saying closer to 100k before needing replacement are even sort of accurate. Does that sound about right? Also anyone want to buy a truck cover, complete with $1800 wing?

CCBs will last a long time under normal use. However, I would expect that anyone buying that particular car will spend a few fun weekends at the track, and that will certainly shorten the life of the brakes.

So I'm a little torn and need some quick advice. An used 18 m3 popped up with all the options I want at a great price. I've never driven one before, but did own an m2 previously. We are about to have our second kid, but I do have a 4 door truck I plan on keeping, but things can change quick with the economy. I've been reading all the threads in here about m2c vs M3. My only question is depreciation of this Dinan m2 vs the g80. I've read some people saying mods drop value, etc, but with Dinan stuff is that still the case? I'm a money guy, so it's always gonna be in the back of my mind as to which I could unload the easiest.

Hmm... I think you should drive the M3 more to see if you really like it. Personally I wanted a M4 at first, and when I went to drive it I thought everything was perfect except it felt a little... big. So I went and got the OG. Dinan won't drop its value, but won't increase it either (actually I'm not certain lol). But OG was a hell of a car, I'm still saying that to everyone around me even though I have the M2C now, and I can just imagine how those Dinan parts will elevate the experience. Good luck!

Would 4 full track days under the m2s belt change anyone's mind?

What you may need to know is that the M2 is faster on most tracks than an M3 especially with your Dinan upgrades.

I'd much rather have a car that someone did track days in instead of an idiot that beat it on the street. Most track day folks are pretty anal about maintenance before and after the track. No one wants to end a track day due to lack of prep. I might be in the minority, but once you start doing track days you lose interest in street shenanigans.

It would not change my mind, but that is completely up to you though.

What you need to check is the thickness of the brake pads and the tire tread thickness. If marginal, just have the dealer replace the worn parts and you should be ok.

This is a tough one. I've owned both F80 M3 and now the og M2. The both have their positives and negatives and depends on what you're after. If you foresee potentially having to load kids then obviously M3 is going to be better with 4 doors, bigger, wider etc. If you will be tracking a lot then I feel M2 will be a better track car. Day to day driving M3 will likely be a little more comfortable than the M2. So just assess your needs and then make the decision depending on that.
