Great video.

He was pissed off at 6.20, braking too late/a lot of understeer?

He easily lost a half a second on that turn no wonder he is pissed. That would have put him in the 51's. Then again if you took a tenth off every corner assuming there are ~100 that's 10 seconds...
Tire mod + driver mod would shave quite a bit off of that.
Wonder what a ots CS tuned car would do

A CS tuned car would easily break into 7:40s. Also, M4 CS has a 7:38 laptime with Cup 2 tires on Nurburgring. So if you were to put Cup 2s on M2C, it would reduce the lap time by another 10+ seconds on a ~13-mile track.

Nice, so 11 sec quicker than the M2 SportAuto tested and 2 sec quicker than the M4.

SportAuto also did a 7:42 with the M4 CS. Which is on Cup 2 tires.

It was on R-comp tires which make a huge difference on a 13-mile track (at least 10+ seconds).

Edit: Not only tires but also further improvements. So basically it wasn't a fully stock car:

"Honda set the lap time with what they call a “pre-production model that was technically representative of production specification.” A floating roll cage was added for safety reasons, but Honda claims that the cage did not improve the rigidity of the frame. In order to compensate for the extra weight of the roll cage, Honda removed the rear seats and display audio system. The record-setting Type R was also outfitted with street-legal track focused tires. Honda declined to specify the actual tires used."

I get motion sick just thinking about that speed as a passenger

You can't buy the Civic Type R that ran that time as it had a roll cage, no back seats, no radio, different tires, and that's just what Honda is telling us as who knows if the engine or engine tuning was 100% stock. I really wish Honda used a stock car for their test because that time is as meaningless as any other modded car that has run the ring.

It's a no-go for me too as a passenger. Two years ago, jumped in a friend's M4 Comp at Thunderhill (2-mile) as a passenger and after about 1.5 laps almost ruined his gorgeous, white Merino leather

I am surprised the time isn't better with the more powerful engine. That's still behind my nose heavy daily driver TTRS, let alone my NA GT4 with only 385 hp and not much torque. Is it the M2's weight that hurts it?
