Congrats. Enjoy in good health.

Consider fullscreen carplay and the CS coding work. Both were well worth the cost. The power and suspension upgrades are there when you want them.

M Performance coils and a tune transforms it for the better so you’ve got that to look forward too.

Coming from a 328i this car stock is more than enough for me at the moment as far as power and handling. Maybe one day in the future i will do some power mods and suspension stuff.

Can you explain in more detail what those two things are? Im sure i could google (and i will) but im looking for up-to-date info.

Thanks!

EDIT: Oh carplay is an Apple thing I think? I dont have an Apple phone unfortunately. Android guy.

Im assuming CS coding is just making the OG M2 more like the M2 CS somehow? What is normally changed? Steering and diff stuff?

Well, I used BimmerCode with a recent iStep (i-Step? ISTEP? I-Step?) version. A little more work and a few more dollars if your car needs an updated version.

Here is the iStep version installed in my 2017 BMW M2 (pre-LCI, OG). An earlier version did not offer me the full-screen option.

You can find your iStep easily enough. This post has details:

Best that I not try to describe iStep ;-)

OP

I disabled auto stop-start user bimmercode very early in my ownership. It's cheap (free if you know ways) and eliminates the annoyance.

The CS settings apply to the steering, diff, and dsc. I had kubax86 do my OG m2 recently. Steering and diff you won't really notice unless you track the car, but the DSC is very noticeable on the street. It gives you a lot more leeway before it kills the throttle to protect you.

BimmerCode gives you control over detailed settings like the brightness of your DRLs, temp of seat heaters etc. Well worth the cost of the adapter and the phone app.

I’ve done the following:

Disabled backup warning
Disabled startup warning on nav
Mirrors fold on lock
Front DRL brightness turned up
Rear DRL turned on
Rear Brake Force Display enabled

The CS coding required the help of remote coding from Kubax86.

There are various programming options for steering, dif, and MDM and the CS option is came in later versions of iStep. IStep is like the operating system for the car. Like the version of android your phone is running. The later versions include the updating steering, dif, and MDM settings the remote coder can change on your behalf.

The steering update is noticeable immediately on the street in my experience. Sport+ isn’t overly firm as it is on a stock OG.

Taken individually these are all smaller changes but collectively they’ve significantly updated my 2017.

To extend the signal range: hold your keyfob against your head (for example against your chin). Your body functions as a human antenna. Science !

Also: tinting your windows can result in reduced range (the tint may, as added signal barrier, partially impede the signal from passing through the (tinted) windows). For example when using a remote control from inside the car to open a gate / garage door.

It is the most popular one but MHD is worth looking at as well.
