I also think your car looks a bit more aggressive due to the shorter OEM tires with the big stretch at the back, hood, and front splitter. I'll get there at some point. And if we can, we do. by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr Last edited by ///MPhatic; 01-04-2024 at 08:51 AM.. |

I'll also say that the V601's have made a believer out of me. Not only are the sidewalls flawlessly matched (identical tw ratio's front to rear), but they grab harder than the PSS (280 tw vs 300 tw), have nearly as much tread (9/32 vs 10/32), are significantly less expensive ($390), have a great looking sidewall and tread, do well in the rain, and they're noticeably quieter. My next tire is going to be the RT660, but I'm going to miss these V601's! Front. by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr Cocked FI-R by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr Rear. by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr |

Thank you! Your pics of your own car and plenty of others you've shared, helped me with my upgrade decisions… especially diamond silver fi-r's. And it was the right call😀 |

With the standard height MPS suspension (595/600) the stock 265 fits easily, as well as every 275 I've heard of. By my calculations there is still 5mm left, so depending on the 285 you choose, those could fit as well. The rear is never the problem, it's the front. |

I'm running 10.5 et 40 (et 45 with a 5mm Turner motorsport spacer) and intend to move to 275/35 I dont like the 285/30 too low profile for me.
I'm 9.5 et22 at the front with 245/35 I will go to 255/35. Ride heights currently 598/593. |

The exact make and model of tire make a difference as well. What are you on? And why is your front higher than your rear?

However I do need to get the front passenger checked out. Believe I'm getting rub under moderate/heavy corner load, when turning left. Regardless of the amount of steering input, i.e. a slight amount of turn or full wheel lock. |

No rubbing on the front with my 255/35 V601's because the TW is 8.6 vs the stock 245 having an 8.8 TW. That's how wide that stock front tire is. A Long Beach sunset. by Andrew Thompson, on Flickr |

[QUOTE=///MPhatic;29226588]No need to get it checked out, it's been long known that stock front tires on FI-R's rub under cornering/turning. Take the wheel off and see where it's rubbing. I suspect it's no issue.

Pulled up TireRack and looked at detailed tire stats. The differences in width yet different tire sizes... nuts! That 0.2" would provide the smidge more clearance I need. Ha! |

Yeah, it's amazing to see the tw's on tires. Michelin especially is all over the place because of their star spec. They create the tires to suit the car. The stock PSS is wide in the front, and skinny in the back to make it more playful.
