I just bought a M2C used and it was a corporate demo that has a bunch on carbon parts. I love them all except I'd rather have a carbon rear lip rather than the carbon wing. It's a bit "boy racer" for me....

Is there a way I can remove it safely? Is it bolted though the trunk? I get the car tomorrow so I'll see then.

Almost certain it is bolted into the trunk and brackets on the inside. You will have 4 holes most likely in your trunk from the wing. Your best bet is to trade your trunk with someone like the poster above said.

Yes it is bolted. Funny my local dealer has the same car, about 18k worth of M parts on it. It's been sitting on the lot since June/July...I was actually considering the car and would have most likely swaped the trunk with someone as well. The wing itself is 2k USD or so + brakets + install...

As said above it wouldn't probably be too difficult to find someone willing to trade trunks as there will be mounting holes for that spoiler.

Thanks everyone, I think this is the best option. In the mean time I'll see if I like it. It is a really nice carbon part.... the quality is stunning.

A good body shop could likely fill the holes and paint match for a few hundred bucks, and you would likely never know the difference. I would be interested in buying the wing if you want to sell! PM me if you have any interest
My car is LBB or else I would trade trunks...

OP,

I got a HS with MP carbon rear lip. Sorely tempted to trade you (and of course throw in case of beer), but am afraid that my wife will tease me mercilessly for the rest of our lives if I do it!

That alone, my friend, is worth the price of admission!

OP...Are you trying to go with the same rear spoiler that comes on the new M2CS? Isn't that a M4 looking spoiler?

It's day 2 with the car... the wing is a very nice Carbon fibre piece. Would I have bought this ? No

It came with the car. All the carbon was free on the corporate demo, and I am kind of getting used to it.

I'm going to see how I like it in a few months. It does suit the aggressiveness of the car, which is phenomenal btw..... I didn't know what I was missing from a fully modded 435, this is just a whole level above... the car is the full package for sure.

Who knows, it might take 10 years off me.... my wife said I was a kid, maybe I should live up to that.

OP,

If I were you, I would totally keep the wing. It is very "boy racer." But that's it's virtue. It's fun. And if you're on the older side, like me, I think it signals to the world that you don't take yourself too seriously.

But, if you do change your mind... just remember, I'm always here to trade you trunks! (And I can include a case of Ballast Point IPAs!)

If I were you OP, I would just rock with it! I think it looks classy, more like a
Porsche GT car and less boy racer. I want to add a functional rear wing for looks and more downforce, but my wife is opposed and thinks they look gaudy. What I really want is the adjustable wing from the GTS. I would love to experiment with an incremental increase in downforce, particularly on the long straight of (insert track name here) and in long sweeping corners. I think I could probably get away with a functional front splitter without too much grief from my spouse, but I've got to keep working on her if I want to put a huge wing on the back
I just got the Carbahn stage 1 tune, and the car feels like an absolute rocket ship, so I may be able to convince her it's a matter of safety when hauling so much ass...
Kind of wish the car just came with it when I bought it like yours

Did that wing also come with a vape pen and a backwards fitting hat?

I know it wasn't your personal choice, so I'm faulting you but other than a functional race car, most large wings look immature and poser-like, unless it came from the factory with one like a GTS, TT, GT3, RS, etc.

Me, personally, is way too self-conscious to pull that off, so I would just have a bodyshop remove and fill it, then sell it to some tweener on eBay.

Sorry, that's my humble opinion
and we all know what opinions are like..
