Hi everyone,

I went to drive my F87 OG M2 today and was greeted by a lovely CEL.
Checked the code with BM3 and saw that it's: "10BA40 Ambient Temp Sensor, plausibility"

Car only has upgraded charge pipe and intercooler with stage 1 BM3 tune. Otherwise stock.

Any tips/ideas? I tried googling that code and searching the forum but didn't find anything.

I've been advised to clear the code and see if it comes back as it was quite hot outside today

My 1st M2 has been to 2 dealers about 5-6 times for this same issue. First they replace the sensor , CEL comes back. Software update, CEL still comes back. Finally they ordered me a new instrument cluster from Germany took 2 months then finally CEL still comes back. Took it back and BMW Irvine claims that it is an “erroneous fault set by environmental factors such as water, moisture, and current temp”
I ended up ditching the car it had been hit and I was over it so I found the same year/spec

1 year of ownership of my new M2 and sure enough my first CEL yesterday
Code: 10BA40 outside temperature sensor

I really don’t understand it and I’m sick and tired of it. BMWs are simply PIECES OF SHIT

Does your outside temp say it’s -40?
