Yeah the gap is supposed to be that big, which is what shocks me when there are users running 0.018". Like that can't be running smoothly.
I'm using 0.018 for an E60 blend and car feels smooth. I actually had misfires with 0.020 on the top end, causing us to gap down more. we also had to dial my map in better. the car feels fine now for me but we are fixing my reflex box
Exactly this ^. I'm running full E85 and ran into misfires at the top end on 0.022. I gapped down to 0.018 and it's been running smooth for 6 months now. No rough idle and no more misfire

Shane is also running a stage 3 turbo kit pushing a decent amount of power hence why he is more likely to blow out the spark and need a smaller gap.

On the stock turbo you'd be hard pressed to need anything that small. The m4 gts runs the same plugs and coils making near 500 whp and still is fine on the stock gap.

yea I'd only recommend it on high power builds, mainly E60. before E60, I was 0.020 with my stage 2 HPFP 535whp 93 octane map

Just re-gapped NGK to 0.028'' today.

Sadly the new Bootmod3 IOS version 0.40.022 is unusable.
All the gauges are running crazy in dashboard.
Can't make logs for now.
Anybody has the same issue?

Mechanic called today to remind me that when he pulled out my spark plugs. The tips are white and shiny, means it went super lean before.

according the custom cary jordan map I was running, It should be rich.
Now I don't know which problem should be taken care first.
Plugs? HPFP ? or maybe LPFP.

Dangle will be arriving by the end of the day. I will pump gas to full tank (eliminate fuel starvation) and try to do some pulls with the new 0.028'' gap first. Meanwhile checking if HPFP pressure still drop like crazy.

Update Logs later.

I don't know what to say unless I see logs - which I can't do for awhile.

Finally I'm back, log posted. timing is much better after turned back to 0.028''
I think we can move to next issue now.

I know fuel pressure crashed like mothertrucker!
It's not like I don't want to rev all the way to 7k rpm, I think throttle closed by itself at 5.5k ish. I left gas pedal as soon as I hear burbles(brrrrr) from exhaust. I assume no more fuel incoming.

@AmuroRay
Good to hear timing is better.

Fuel pressure drops could be due to colder iats as it is winter now, this colder iat means denser air which means more fuel required. So the HPFP can't keep up.

All I see is a car with fueling issues. Everything else looks great, fantastic really, at least to my amateur eye.

I dont see what you mean by the throttle closing by itself. Throttle was 100% the entire time accel pedal was 100% with the exception of a teeny tiny dip as boost built (normal and expected). I'm guessing what you felt was the car simply running out of fuel pressure and struggling to pull beyond 5500rpm or so.

Here's my car on stage 1 - HPFP requested vs actual....

Tomorrow I will change all new coils to see if it's the reason which caused this fueling issue. Hope it won't get too far. Really don't want to upgrade HPFP/LPFP/EPKS just to run a stage 2 acn:

Yes, the exhaust brrrr went first while WOT, I let off pedal right after hearing it cuz I'm scared it will run too lean. Just like you said, sounds like it doesn't want to go above it

sorry for late reply, are you asking if the HPFP in my log is upgraded? No, bone stock. Only mods are intercooler, charge pipe, stage 1 BM3.

enable long term fuel trim (LTFT) and log again.

your STFT is high, indicating that your car is pushing more fuel to compensate for something. possibly the fuel you use is really high in ethanol? or you've got a vacuum leak? or your MAF or o2 sensor is malfunctioning?

no, pumped 91 acn gas, I still haven't figured it out yet, LTFT stable 0.99 or 1
MAF o2 are working well, daily drive fine, no cel, no any codes.
HPFP hit target during daily drive. only dips hard when WOT.
Already changed back to OEM plugs and all new 6 coils. flashed back to stock tune.

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=636b...90c66aae957259

It seems no one in this forum can figure out what exactly happened.
So I ordered the entire fuel system including EKPM.
I'm gonna change one at a time and do logs to see what exactly it is.

Car is 21k miles, it's too new, generally no way that fuel system is weak like this, sometimes I think if my DME got some problem.
Everything changed afterNGK 1 step colder /base map tune from custom tuner.

After that HPFP keeps crashing no matter what map.
put OEM back in, flashed stock tune didn't get any improvement

Swap all new OEM Injectors today, did some logs, hpfp crash remain. It looks like has nothing to do with injectors, old ones are clean as new.

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6381...0b43f7e1943e2c

STFT high, some knocks, HPFP keep crashing.
Right now, brand new sparkplugs, coils, injectors.

The only piece I haven't put back to stock is 3.5bar Tmap sensor which I bought from Amazon
