Best place to sell my M2c
Gentlemen, thanks in advance for your feedback. I’m about to sell my Sunset 2020 M2c with 18k miles. I was curious what’s the place to get a fair value for it. I was thinking auto trader?

If you're looking to straight up sell, I would make sure that sites like cars.com have your car listed, to get the most traffic. Good luck with the sale!

Autotrader to me has always had the best interface and most volume, definitely my go to when looking so I say there!
Once up there, you can cross list on FB Marketplace on the more rare chance you can snag someone local…but for higher ticket items I’ve had less luck on there. Good luck! |

The M2C is holding decent value relative to the rest of the car market. I always check with Carmax first because it’s so easy to sell if you get a decent offer. Double check their offer against the other online car places. Carmax won’t be the highest, but it still might be worth it due to the ease of the process and avoiding the headaches of a private sale.

I sold a previous non-BMW performance car on Cars and Bids. They were easy to work with, the car sold for a fair price, and the buyer pays all the fees to the website.

Depends on your expectations: if you're lucky, you can get maybe mid 50s if you're super patient.
Mine was a 2019 with 14k miles, and was offered low 40s by Carmax. Carvana was the better offer in my case. Luckily, I sold it to an awesome forum member for a price we were both happy with. New owner flew cross country and drove it back home. |

Sounds like good advice. I'm going to put my 2021 ordered M2c 6-speed up for sale. It's got 9,210 miles, was delivered in July of 2021, and has a lot of motorsport (factory) carbon add-ons, etc. The MSRP was $73,500 (no ADM) and I'm thinking of selling it for about $57,777 or thereabouts.

If you're trading in, based on recent auction history, top of the market would be $48k if manual, as they tend to get a bit more than the autos, but maybe you catch someone sleeping. Private sale, low to mid 50s.

Thanks. Looking at private sale. I’ll be flexible with offers. A couple of thousand won’t make or break me. I own it outright. Mine’s a manual, and only 9,500 miles.

I'd say mid 50s depending on color. You have some nice mods and decently low miles. Unfortunately, the market is not where it was 1 year ago.

Autotrader, forum post and I'd also send to Built for Backroads(https://www.builtforbackroads.com/). The M2 is a car that people search for, so your buyer is likely out there looking now. Do the best ad you possibly can, great photos and lots of them, along with open communication. It is remarkable how many ads I've seen on here with 5 cell phone pictures and 3 sentences.
Best of luck with sale and hopefully you're moving on to better things. |

FYI, I wouldn't expect a super high Mid 50s sale price from CarMax or Carvanna or whatever the other Car something or other resale is. For shits and giggles, I looked up the value of my old car, 2020 M2C, HS, 6 speed, every package, 25K miles, they would buy it for under $33K. I put in my VIN (so this is my car), no accidents, no issues, this was literally what they emailed me.
Just to make sure you have realistic expectations on the current value of these cars, saleswise.

Ok, I thought the values would be a lot higher by now. I wish I could buy up a couple more just so they can make 14 dollars the hard way. These cars are so amazing. And they didn’t exactly make a lot of them. $33k tho? That’s an unethical tragedy.

With what seems like constant layoffs in tech, super high interest rates, and supply finally meeting and exceeding demand in some cases, the market is correcting itself.

Quoting to emphasize there is a market on this forum. M2 stock is changing often on the dealer market, but prices are all over the place, quite a few modified examples with zero records or history.
From a forum member with documentation I’d buy ASAP, a dealer with no docs…not so much. Post here in the classifieds, or check some WTB. |
