Do it! It is on there super tight. I use the OEM BMW crossbars and a pretty cheap set of J hooks. If you have a plastic kayak (not fiberglass) you can ratchet strap it on super tight. I've driven really fast with it on and it never moves. It does get loud past 90 mph.

Replaced front Rotors/Pads with SHW rotors and Centric semi-metallic pads, brake bleed with ATE SL6.
At 31k the rotors were lipped but not terrible - hoping to improve on the horrific stock pad dusting. It literally stains my driveway during washes. Finding out maybe I drive aggressively enough that I should live with the dusting for the initial bite performance, but not super impressed but will give it some time. Bought the car at this mileage and idk if the previous owner loved driving through gravel pits or what, but the calipers have a ton of nicks/scratches/marks. Anyone else? |

The catless downpipes unfortunately are not too my taste The sound is very metal-ish from 1500-2500 RPM and so very loud with the AA EL MP.
So I will be placing the stock cats back and bought an Akrapovic And will be reverting back to St1 tune. |

Brought it in to my shop for Tech today for next month's pro-instruction day, club HPDE and tomorrow's SCCA Track Night in America. It was puurrrrfect, as always.
So I gave it a bath so it'll be all Purdy at the track tomorrow. Trying out my new Garmin Catalyst tomorrow, so fairly interested to see how it works. R.

Maxton Design side skirts and rear spats. Killer deal on Turner Motorsports. I had a real nice carbon lip on my 235 that got ripped off. I can’t bring myself to spend big bucks on ground trim anymore. Pretty happy with how they turned out.

Celebrated a 4th birthday!
I'm not a big cupcake guy so I made her a Martini since she's getting older. The birthday gifts included Motorsport studs, spacers (10mm front, 5mm rear) to offset the negative camber and red Blackline engine caps. I was hesitant on these really but they do look really good in person and align with the cap grooves perfectly so they should stay secured. Looking forward to many more. |

Added some sound deadener to the trunk area as well as the rear quarters, added the cover panels, as well as the front fender seals. Looking forward to see what difference it makes.

Not today, but on Saturday, I took my first highway drive in my new-to-me M2C. I drove the Sea-to-Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler and back. For those not from this area, it's a decently twisty highway with towering granite cliffs on one side and cliffs down to the ocean on the other. The weather was hot and sunny, perfect for a highway drive with the sunroof open and windows down.
On Sunday, I washed off the bugs and brake dust. I have EBC Red Stuff on my M3 and I had forgotten how dirty the dust from OEM BMW brake pads is. What else can I say, but I love this car. It took all of my willpower to keep the speed less than 40 km/h over the limit. Speeds above 40 km/h can result in an excessive speeding ticket which results in the car being impounded. I've done the same drive in my M3 quite a few times and I enjoyed it in the M2C more I ever have in the M3. |

Took it to the track for Open Lapping and a pro session today before my club's HPDE tomorrow.
It could have gone better. When I tech'd the car, the general consensus was that I was cleared for two more track days with my Cup2's as long as I rotated them. I did, and they didn't make it. At the end of the first session, I was just starting to show steel cords on the outside of one of the front tires-- the rest of the tires were pretty smoked (although still barely above the wear bars in the rear). Grr. Had to cancel the afternoon session with the pro and do an emergency return to my house to put my street MP4S's on for the HPDE tomorrow. 90 minutes each way, plus the time to swap wheels and tires. Kind of a bummer as a) I lost a half-day at the track (on the plus side, I didn't die), and the budget doesn't really have room for a new set of track tires built into it at the moment. My wife's response? "I guess I know what I'm getting you for Christmas". Hopefully, I don't chew up the MP4S's too badly tomorrow-- I need to remember that the car's wearing dress shoes instead of tennis shoes on the track. Additionally, I think it's time to invest in some dedicated track pads-- I'm starting to torch my second set of DS2500's. A lesson learned: get better = go faster = consumables (tires & brakes) skyrocket! Sigh. R.

Tossed some new exhaust tips on since it’ll be a while until I actually swap the exhaust on the car. First picture is the new tips on the left vs the stock tips on the right. Note I just need a cf diffuser to make it look complete

Did an HPDE yesterday (on street tires-- THAT was..... interesting).
My instructor was very close to a pro driver-- he did Pikes Peak in sub-11 last year in his custom built (think: full-on race car) Audi. I got to drive a few laps with him in it. Wow. Just..... wow. There was a SCCA National Champion there with his M2C that he's prepping for another Championship run (his shop works on my car- Bimmerhaus). Mother of God-- that thing is FAAAAAAST. He bombs through the braking zone, taps the brakes, and damn near takes the corners twice as fast as I can. The owner of SCR Performance had a pretty serious OG M2 there as well-- running 295/305 rubber with terrifying amounts of power to the rear wheels. I was verrrry impressed, and still not quite sure how he managed to stuff that much rubber under the fenders. I know what I want for Christmas, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get most of it! Fun day though-- the M2C performed flawlessly as usual (except for its killing the Cup2's a day or two earlier than I'd planned). I detuned it off of the Carbahn Tune last winter and I'm glad I did-- MUCH easier to drive closer to the limit at the track. In the future? New track tires (maybe RE71's?) and a new tune-- leaning towards Bend Calibration, but I need to talk to Bimmerhaus and SCR before committing to that-- I have to get the DME cracked anyway to make any progress on that front. Fun day. R.

Installed the arc brace I ordered from Japan.
Going to do a seat delete next week and even though I don’t thing removing seat will reduce rigidity, having a little more probably will not hurt. This is a very nice pice of kit I have to say, very nice materials, very nicely built, I think with shipping it was about $300. Will post another picture when seat delete + net + carpet go in |
