Hello!

Not really a place for "intros" and I love pictures, so posting here kind of as an intro thread. May turn into a build thread over time. Also note, so far I only have phone pics of my M2. I will be doing a proper photoshoot soon but wanted to post and say hello already

Meet "The Honey Badger" !!!

Picked up my pretty much new 2017 Mineral Gray F87 M2 6MT w/Exec Pack recently with just over 3,900 miles on the odometer.

A few pics with an E46 M3 6MT:

This little fearless beast has earned the nickname "The Honey Badger" !!! Car feels and handles amazing, GRIPS like a mofo, is the perfect size, and to me does not feel like it is lacking in anything in terms of power. It seems to have some pretty noticeable turbo lag though (kind of expected), which I will see what I can do about with parts and/or tuning. Can't wait to get some track time in this thing!

A few more choice snapshots:

I love the iDrive interface and maps in this iteraation as well. Better than any I've previously used.

Got tints pretty much right away, and going to be making some more changes in the near future as well. Can't wait!

Those lines.... the MG + tints is really working for me!

Previous BMW's list because BMW:

1993 BMW E36 325i 6MT
2001 BMW E46 325Ci
2006 BMW K1200R Motorcycle "Herr Terminator"
2008 BMW E93 M3 6MT "Trinity"
2010 BMW E71 X6 xDrive35i
2013 BMW E71 X6M "The Beast" aka "Superman X6M"
2015 BMW F82 M4 6MT "The Dud" - only had this car for 4 days lol
2017 BMW F87 M2 6MT "The Honey Badger"

Can't wait to get some more goodies for the little beast!

Looking forward to being an active M2 forum member and part of the community here!

PS. Tow hook cover was missing on pickup, have one on order. I know it's an eye sore!

Haha thanks, you're right! I had to pull over to get some shots of the M2 with that beautiful sunset in the background!

Expected this question, hehe

Long story short, bought it used with 9k miles, left the lot and 5 miles later got drivetrain malfunction and limp mode.

Pulled codes and engine timing was off.

Warranty history showed that the car had previously been in for timing issues, and had been money shifted to 9314RPM (tech notes). The engine was a ticking time bomb. I returned the car to CarMax using their 5 day return policy.

Basically some asshat destroyed the engine, but didn't put a hole in the block and was able to save their ass by selling the car to CarMax after it happened.

Truly, I lucked out that it happened so soon, and also because returning that M4 - which had a gorgeous Individual Violet Blue II paint with full Silverstone leather) - brought me to the M2.
