PSS sidewall crack
The rear drivers side tire shows a crack all the way around the sidewall. 1500 miles. Never tracked or driven in freezing temps. Is this dangerous? Warranty issue? Thanks!

Can’t post pics because I’m on my phone, but Definitely not present on the other tires and it really looks like the thread is separatedby a crack all around the sidewall... I will go to the dealer to get this checked out...

I kinda think I see what you mean now. I don't think BMW warrants the tires though. You'll have to go through Michelin if I remember correctly.
There should've been a tire warranty card in the user manual packet |

I had a set of PSS and PS4S do this on me from hard driving/autox/track. Michelin denied the warranty because the tires were "driven too hard"
Your best bet is to take more pictures and have a tire shop or you directly contact michelin re: warranty. These tires shouldn't delaminate. Especially since you mentioned you didnt park it in freezing temps. Good luck with your claim, |

Here are some pictures. Funny that it's all the way around the tire and just on one tire. Also just the outside. I left a meesage with my dealer. I will swing by this week. I noticed it at 2100-2200 km but it might have been there earlier.

Just curious, is or was your car lowered? Almost looks too perfect like a fender or something was cutting a groove. Pretty good feathering on the outside. Could be low tire pressure and/or heavy cornering. But really odd if only that tire. Interested to see how they handle.

Stoped by my local dealer... they say it’s normal... I insisted but to no avail. Doesn’t seem to affect handling. I don’t drive super agressive anyways. I will probably get a 2nd opinion.
Car is 100% stock except for the front chip guards and some PPF |

My fronts looked exactly like that at 25k miles with about half the tread remaining and noisy. Both rears were down to the wear bars but the sidewall didn't look like that.
I replaced all 4 with PS4S (replaced the fronts mainly because of a small sidewall bulge but the crack was bugging me). The PS4S grip like crazy and are quieter than PSS which is a bonus. Had the alignment checked and only the rear toe was off. |

Do you have Discount Tire or any big chain tire stores? I had a tire problem once and Discount Tire took care of it through the manufactures warranty hassle free. No need to get dealer involved. Warranty goes with the tire not the car....Good Luck.
