More like the ZF8 on a M240i and less like DCT in comfort mode. Car doesn't buck nearly as much over 1st and 2nd gear speed bumps. I might try the GTS trans tune and see how that goes. Overall I'm happy w the update. The PS4 275s can't really handle much more torque, but you guys don't worry about that and keep squeezing every last drop out of the stock turbo
That's a good review, hope you enjoy it

I went from 5.3 to 5.6 and then 5.7, with the burbles set to OEM.

5.6: Very muffled OEM-like burbles.

5.7: Non-OEM unmuffled burbles. Car would burble actively in Comfort mode, would burble less aggressively in Sport+... before all hell suddenly breaks loose and it just starts burbling super-aggressively. It's like it builds up 5-6 soft burbles, and then boom 5-6 WW3 burbles.

I reverted to 5.3 as I live near prominent politicians and government officials, and I don't want to draw more attention than I already do, and burble control in different modes is vital.

Didn't open a ticket or complain as I don't wanna be "that guy" who only cares about burbles... I know sooner than later it'll be resolved quietly, and once it does, I'll flash it.

BM3 FTW.

I turned down the duration/aggression to 0.7s/1 for Sport and 1.4s/2 for Sport+ to control this.

Altho, impact of the burble settings are going to be different based on each of our mods. I’m still on the stock DP and exhaust.

Noticed that when I ran oem burbles. For some reason BM3's OEM setting isn't very close to oem stock tune at all. However I think it has to do with the fact that burbles are not just a simple values here and there to change but it's a complex system so they tried to get as close as possible

On the N55 cars like ours there is, burble settings for Sport is actually the comfort setting on the car mode

Sport+ burble settings are for Sport and Sport+ on the car mode

Yupp, also tried custom but that didn't work so I had to say goodbye to 5.7 haha

I’ve always just used Custom burbles and set them to whatever I wanted for Sport & Sport+.

Try it now on BM3 set "Sport burbles" duration to 0 seconds and then set "Sport+" duration to 2 seconds so that its easily distinguishable. You'll see what I mean.

It was confirmed by PTF themselves

I’m just not picking up what you’re trying to lay down regarding the drive modes.

My Comfort mode acts just like stock, and Sport/Sport+ mirror the Custom settings I’ve selected.

Just installed a HJS 300 cell DP and want to tune the car using BM3 to stage 1 93 this weekend.
Saw on the ‘user manual’ that a Battery charger is recommended, do you guys have any suggestions? The car is 1 year old and I drive it almost every day, is it in this case even necessary?

No, it's not really necessary; just put on your seatbelt when the tune is uploading, so the vehicle's doesn't go into 'sleep mode.'

You'll be fine.

This question is asked a lot and it's quite annoying.

If you want to take the risk and flash without really knowing your battery's health then by all means go ahead. But really you're choosing to save about $60-75 by not buying a bench charger. So you weigh the pros and cons of that

Question for the bm3 community
My car has MPE, drop in filter, FS catted DP, CSF FMIC, and upgraded CP
I went with the stage 2 93 (agg) map at first and even when dropping aggression sliders down, it just felt like way too much overall with flaps closed and when opened it was just a crazy muffled grumble at all times.
Does the muffled nature of the sound go away if I go to the non (agg) stage 2 93 map?
Also what do some people use for aggression? Trying to get an idea what would make it sound close to the way it sounded prior to the tune.

Is there a way to tune these that doesn't jack with your exhaust?

OEM settings should keep it the same, right?

Not sure, that's why I asked. I'll be getting BM3 before too long and was wondering.

Just installed a VRSF Catless DP and OMG the burbles are LOUDDDD!! Gonna try to find a balance between OEM and OTS. Anyone with a similar setup with advice on burble settings?

Have a stock exhaust otherwise.

You would think so, but it doesn't seem so based on what people say. However, people say the burbles controls on 5.6 seem broken and it only sounds OEM no matter what they do. Try 5.6?

You can't downgrade unless you already added the older map to your "my maps" list before.

Or someone with the file uploads it for others to use... I theorize.

I only have Stg1 93 v5.6 and Stg 2 93 AGG v5.6 though

Put these in your maps folder and let me know if they show up on your "my maps" tab in bm3.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vg4dayijo...UDtirfbTa?dl=0

But to make a correction to what was said before... Burbles are broken, meaning they don't work. No one said they sound OEM (they don't, they're broken and the built-in adjustment controls don't work to fix them). OEM and broken do not mean the same thing. v5.6 won't solve your issue. Lower the aggression setting in v5.7 instead.
