It's just the way I felt in comparison, and it bugged me so much that I immediately went to look for ways to try to fix it (to limited success). The M2 has more power, but it felt slower to me because the throttle/turbo response just felt slow. In the 135i, just tapping the gas pedal lurches the car forward a bit and gives a general sense of eagerness to accelerate. I think I'm in the minority here about this, but this was a big reason why the M2 did not ultimately become the replacement vehicle that I expected it to be.

Agreed based on the few times I drove a 135. Id actually go so far as to say the N55 on my 335 is more responsive than my M2. Figured it was just a "safety tune" so you arent constantly losing the rear of M2.

That said, as mentioned by others, I'd take the M2s handling all day everyday over the 135. Plus the M2 doesnt give you the option for that ridiculous cup holder...I mean, whose idea was this?

Hahah. To be honest, the cup holder has never bothered me as I always used it as my de-facto phone holder - keeps it upright and in sight without falling out. It's easily removable with a strong tug.

With the optional iDrive in the 1-series, you lose one of the center console cupholders. This was the "solution" (although I had it in my non-iDrive 135i). I also used it as my phone holder (and running Waze every time I was in the car).

I understand why it was there, just poking fun at it. All in good fun!
