FTP have a version two out.

Think they're increased the bore over OEM though maybe not same as pure. Not clear to me at this time.

I was wondering if anyone has tested out the MST inlet?

I reached Out to webtaigoods eBay distributor in UK for FTP. They've always been helpful.

I asked about the ID of the turbo end of V2 of the inlet pipe. I got sent this photo which I need help interpreting. Does this mean the ID is maxed out/same as pure?
If so I will be going FTP as far cheaper and they put the mounting point in first time round...

The Pure Turbo inlet uses a different gasket, It uses an oring system vs a large rubber gasket. This means they can have a smaller wall thickness allowing larger I.D.

I didn't realise V2 FTP had been measured in this very thread, even though I've read it numerous times!

A lot of cash for the he pure but they make the best one so you make your choice I suppose .

My understanding was that the FTP was basically equivalent to the stock part, but in Aluminium rather than plastic. The image above sort of confirms that... with the stock turbo, the FTP will be more than adequate, but equally not really needed since there is no issue with the stock pipe in terms of reliability. For an upgraded turbo, the Pure part provides a sizeable benefit.

Stock inlet pipe is common part for F series in both PWG and later EWG types.

The oem inlet ID was matched for smaller PWG comp wheel.

FTP ID matches larger EWG comp wheel but allegedly doesn't flow as well as larger ID Pure inlet, who's inlet ID is much larger than oem EWG comp wheel.

You guys do yourself a big disservice by not reading the F30/F22 forums. A few people are testing the inlets, and the MST seems like a winner.

Thanks.

I am reaching out to MST themselves and resellers about the part. Not on any UK sites yet. I realise it is sold out in the US.

Seems the MST part tests well vs Pure and may come out cheaper by a fair margin.

Might not sound as good being silicone?

MST list Ram Air Filters as their UK distributor

https://www.mst-performance.com/pages/mst-dealer

Also, CLP Tuning, here in UK, list MST intakes on their website, so might be worth checking with either of these about n55 inlet pipe.

Have dealt with Bryan @ Kies M'sport and Mike @ XPH in the USA - no issues - both really helpful c/w fast delivery etc.

BeePee way ahead of you.

Have contacted and gotten quick responses from ramair on ebay. They were honest and didn't know about the inlets but are looking to acquire the stock turbo (V1) ones with a fair likely hood of success but it's not set in stone.

Also it is physically out of stock even in the states.

Additionally i've reached out to NVM who also appear to stock MST products.

What I don't get from the FTP pic, is that the ID of the brown gasket is the same or slightly larger than the ID of the turbo mouth where the compressor wheel sits.

So what is wrong with that if the stock pipe is narrower than the turbo mouth inlet area?

BeePee does the PT inlet have any sound characteristic on your car? MST is silicone so may not sound quite as good?

As well as PT inlet I also have AFE dry drop in air filter in oem airbox and GFB DV+

Sounds healthy 😉

Found this on preorder, good price.

http://www.***********s.co.uk/index....product_id=398

Thic F30s YT video shows tight clearance with the MST inlet pipe, is that same as pure or is the pure more slender?

Just worried about fitment issues

Website is blocked out but for those in UK it's boost A d d I c t s

Just ordered last UK MST V2 intake in stock. It's for hybrid turbos but from what I've read the larger ID may be beneficial.

£195 delivered vs Pure which was circa £250.

we shall see... I can provid caliper measurements when it arrives

It has arrived, well packaged by MST and looks/feels well made. I don't know what the stock inlet looks like but this V2 hybrid internal diameter looks nice and BIG

No didn't measure it in the end, it is around here someone though.

Kind of irrelevant for most however, just get MST V2 for stock turbo it's as large as pure's inlet.
