Had a lot of fun watching that—thanks for the share. Take it you know the driver of the Comp? Their lines looked not as clean as yours.

Yes I know the driver, after his next session tyres were down to the cords which explains a few of his lines & stock brakes was a big weakness I took advantage of.

A very capable driver doing 7:2X BTG at the ring in his E46 track car.

1. I enjoyed that, especially the commentary, like another day at the office.
2. Unmapped? I mean, really? Dude. At least do the IC/DP/BM3.
3. Post more of these

Even with N55 stock power the chassis and 295 wide rear tyres cannot cope so never felt the need for more power. Often you don't need more power to go faster.

With new front brakes I feel the need for rear AP brakes... that could be a factor I need new pads on the rear as they're very thin so heat up quick.

Not the best platform to view but here's a quick snippet of all my slips and slides from the day

Being a racer you know grip isn't about the size so much as it is the compound and pressure. Slap some Corsa's on there and you're good to add more power I'm sure.

Or bung some slicks on

But the road 295 rears definitely helped to manage heat better over a track 265 rear. An his comp has circa 150 more hp making it lot easier to light them up.

I ran slicks for a while on my Exige (it's a different animal, it's not heavy enough to create heat, so you have to really work it), and actually didn't like them as much as the AR1's. To me, the AR1 is the tire to have, then comes the Trofeo R, which I adore, even on the street. They both kill the Michelin tires IMO. The best thing about the Michelin lineup (for track) is how long they wear with the grip they provide, other than that, AR1 and Trofeo R.

Nice vid. Did you swap your side rear view mirrors for the M2 Comp mirrors?

They are the Auto ID versions (use the stock glass): https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1716767

They look awesome (I have the same) and much cheaper than swapping out genuine M2C mirror units.

Thanks for the video. Really entertaining to watch.

Also cool to see that you upgraded the brakes before gettting your hands on the engine. I agree the M2 (either "standard" or competition), have enough power for 95% of circumstances, tracks, and driver's ability/expertise.

Can you provide some info regarding the alignment?

Has a front mount, mainly for keeping IAT down and keep the power I have consistent.

These are genuine M2 Comp wing mirrors now.

Had the autoid ones to start but the real thing popped up and are so much better.

Is a few times were I feel more power could be handy but realistically I just need to get faster myself.

Cant remember the exact spec but know its -3 camber with toe out front & -2 half camber with toe in rear.
