My next bigger project will be the M-Perf. suspension. I always wanted one for the better ride and finally I managed to buy a new one for a reasonable price (2K EUR) from Germany.
Now I need only time for the install...

Meanwhile this week my Flex Fuel kit package arrived so I installed it yesterday. It wasn't a hard job, the hardest part was the removal of the corner seat part. Now it works flawlessly with the BM3 OTS multimap.

This week i managed to go to a track day, first time this year. It was very fun, everything worked fine after the long winter months. In this session i had a duet with another M2. It was more stable in the corners with modified suspension. I also had a big moment in lap #3 while i followed him. My rear slipped during a corner braking. I hope the MP suspension will help to prevent such situations.

So my next update was the rear view mirror retrofit this weekend.
It wasn't an easy plug and play job since i have the FLA High Beam Assistant version in my car, which means my mirror's base consists of the camera, the PCB is different and also the number of wires to the plug (6 instead of 4). So the solution was to put the old base and the interior on/in the new mirror housing. Unfortunately due to the bigger size of the PCB i couldn't use the retrofit mirror kit (#51162471107) but i had to use the G series mirror (#51166830616). The retrofit housing is narrower by 5 mm. Also i had to lengthen one of the wires, because the position of the plugs on the older PCB are different. I had to remove the PCB holding sticks due to different hole positions, but i used double sided tape to keep the PCB in one place. And finally i had to trim some of the plastic in the housing here and there to be able to put it all together but it worked out well, and doesn't affect the result. The only thing which is not working (well, actually it works just you can't see it) is the red blinker of the alarm system due to the different position of the LED. Here are the pictures which i made during the process.

Finally this week i had the time to install the MP Sport Suspension. What a thing! I think this is the best mod I've done with my car so far. It changed the handling and behaviour so much that it feels like a totally different car. It feels solid, the response is immediate and the damping of the bumps on the road are very smooth. I like it very much and i can only recommend it for everyone.
On the street I'm using 12/9 on the front and 15/9 on the rear. For track I will make it harder with 5 clicks all around as recommended. Besides the 2 cm lowering makes the car more sexy.

Last Saturday i had some fun at a drag race. It was my first such an experience which showed in the time result. My times were 14.2 consistently, i would need to improve my launches to get better times. Still it was fun.

Recently i had to remove my RKP rear spoiler since the lacquer faded/got off on it. I managed to find a paint shop which did the job well so i could reapply it again. Now it looks like a new one. I hope it will last a few years at least. The original lacquer held for 4 years.

Well, it's been a while since my last update but here is my newest modification.
I present the CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 display upgrade. It was a 2 hour job to install. I had to make bigger hole for the cables on the vent frame, and it was hard to remove some of the pins from the wire connectors. But finally everything went well and it works well. I think i will use the default pages, they have all the necessary parameters i need, especially the water temp.

Today I changed the spark plugs cos it was time for them.
Old: factory Bosch installed at BMW service on scheduled maintenance. Picture shows their state after 26k km. I think they look OK, no significant deviance. New installed: NGK 97506 gapped to 0.55 mm for the BM3 tune.

This weekend I went to the first track day of the year, as usual to the Pannonia Ring.
Based on the weather forecast I expected rain so I didn't put on the track wheels, but my recent all season street tyres were very unsuitable for track use. Oh boy, it was slippery. But it was a very good and fun experience to learn how to drive better with lack of grip. I had understeer on corner entries, sliding in the turns and instant oversteer during corner exits even at low throttle.
