Well guys another track day in the books!
Willow springs big willow. Consistently ran a bunch of 1:34s. Seems to be my PB. That track is just really hammered and bumpy. It needs a repave really bad! I've had a hard time breaking 34s. I'm happy with it though. Respectable time on a track that just takes straight up big balls. I'm not willing to crash my car just to chase times.

The AP brakes ran SWEET all day! Loving the ds 1.11 pads! Great feel, great bite and modulation and no squeaking which I really love!

I'll be at streets of willow on the 5th! Hoping to have my 235 wing on by then!

Got around to getting the 235 wing mounted up! Huge thank you to IND for the phenomenal customer support and selling top quality products! Very stoked on this!

I've spent the past 13 years of my life working my butt off to get to where I'm at today. Part of this now includes my M2. Ever since the m2 came out in 2015/16 I have drooled over them. Such a drivers car, fairly bare bones, well know for its handling and out of the box performance. After working on many cars including multi million dollar super cars I fell in total love with the m2 like so many of you here.

My m2 is the nicest "sportscar" I have ever owned. Previously I had an Integra GSR, an FRS, a ram 1500 Hemi. Along side the M2 I also have an ecodiesel 1500.

The m2 is a car I plan on keeping for ever. Heck, with how balls deep in mods I am I will financially loose my ass if I were to part it out or sell it. Plus one of the biggest things I love about the m2 is that it is so highly regarded as a drivers car that it gets respect from all types of car owners. Some of my filthy rich customers even respect the car because they know what a beast it is.

So the m2 fell in my lap if you will. Before I bought it I really didn't know much about them. I just knew they were super capable. But I didn't realize that my car was arguably the best year with all the good factory goodies. It's a sapphire black LCI executive package manual car that was originally a euro delivery. I am the 3rd owner and bought it with roughly 2k miles.

Any time I work on someone's car I tell them "if you ever want to sell it I'll buy your car for a dollar". It usually yields a good laugh and people go one their merry way. But Phillip the previous owner of my car took me serious enough to reach out to me. It was perfect timing too because I just had two Hockenhiem silver M2C roll through my shop and I was very close to buying a brand new one! The deal for my car was sweet though and I already knew the car because I had previously wrapped it in PPF. So I knew it was 95% flawless and that Phillip was as meticulous as I am. He drove the car down to my town about a 4 hour drive one Saturday morning and we signed the documents and she was mine!

My goal with the m2 is to slowly transition it to a track weapon while retaining some street legality. I also want to hit 500 wheel HP and have been stock piling parts to make that happen!

One thing that deserves a major shoutout is a great customer and friend of mine, James. James has had many cars through my shop and is an all around car guy like me. One morning we were shooting the stuff and I was telling him about CAE Race shifters. Later that day while working on his new car he texted me a screen shot of a CAE order and simply said "happy birthday, this is for you". James bought me a CAE kit for the m2!! This was by far the nicest thing a customer has ever done for me! I will forever think about him with every gearshift from now on! I should also mention I am a DIEHARD manual driver!

I will continually edit this post to keep the modifications and build up to date.

Another HUGE mod in the works is that a great friend of mine and master leather man is reupholstering the sparco seats. We're doing Dakota grain real leather and anthercite alcantara with polar blue sticking. We're also having "m performance" embroidered into the headrest to complete the BMW skunkworks look!

I should also add that all the mods are installer and done by me! I am very ocd and like to do my own wrenching. Every time I pay someone to work on my cars it's never done to my standards.

Any questions feel free to ask! I'm very busy so I'll try to keep things updated.
Build looks good but imo I would switch out the AEM meth kit (imo I think this kit is garbage) with aquamist. If you want me to elaborate I would be happy to. But other than thay this build looks solid.

I never ended up doing the aem kit. With the car being on full e85 it seems to run plenty cool and we have plenty of octane.

Thank you though!!

Small update! Cars been running great! For anyone on the fence about ECUTEK with bend calibration….just send it. It's the best period. I asked Joseph to reach out to ecutek about getting rev match enabled in DSC off mode. They made it happen! I now have rev match in every mode! I know some of you hate rev match. Personally I love it. The car matches the rpm perfectly every time! I have size 13 feet and have struggled my ass off to learn to heel toe. Also running the car on track in sport+ was starting to get annoying in certain corners where I'd just like to put all the power down coming out but traction would kick in and cut power. Very thankful for bend calibrations amazing service and ecuteks tried and true platform! I have zero affiliation with either and paid full price!

I have 2 more track dates and then will be taking the summer off. In socal we track in the winter. Summer is too hot.

Over the summer I plan to redo some of the paint protection film on the car.

I also plan to make a v2 version of my front splitter! I think if I can do it right it will be bad ass! And super rigid. Well see!

I also have a KMP/team schirmer (kmp makes it for them) diff bracket and bushings. This will be a huge project that will take time.

While the subframe is out I plan to add more SPL arms. So the car will be on full SPL arms!

I also plan to take the rest of the wiper fluid tank and crap out to save weight. I never use it and took the windshield wipers off the car to save weight.

I also need to pull the cage out and I want to remove the rest of the factory seat belt parts. I always buckle in with the harnesses.

We'll see what else I can find to remove from the car to save weight.

So that's the plan for now guys! Stay posted!

Also swapped for 240 end plates. Just the plastic ones. I didn't feel carbon ones were worth the money. I drilled an extra hole in the front to allow the plate to sit level with the wing in the middle adjustment hole.
I also added an AJ Hartman gurney flap. I know the wing is doing something because on buttonwillow a few weeks ago the car felt very planted! Definitely feeling the best it has in a long time! It absolutely rips. Quite insane lol

Yeah being able to see is overrated. Maybe do the turn signals and brake lights next.

Little update. I've been sitting on a do88 oil cooler for a while now. The car needed an oil change so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to install the oil cooler.
Install was easy, you do not need to take the bumper off. You can work from inside the wheel well. I can see why they want you to take the bumper off but you don't need too. Use your head, you can figure it out.
The oil cooler is massive! I have a strong feeling this bad boy is going to cool on track way better than the CSF I had.
I also put some foam around the bumper plastic that the do88 shroud goes to. Wanted to try and really direct air at the cooler.

Dang that hole is tiny, wish there was something we can do to open it up to allow more air to hit the oil cooler.

Also keep us posted about the cooling results. I hope it's better than the csf, d088 also seems to be better quality than the csf stuff imo.

I ditched the head lamp squirters and I plan to remove tank. Unnecessary weight. I was thinking about putting some ducts from where the headlamp squirter holes are in the bumper and routing it to the do88 cooler shrouds. If it's a 2.5-3" pretty straight shot I feel like it'll possibly help a little.

I held my little shop fan that blows a fairly concentrated straight line of air into the oil cooler vent and held my other hand on the backside where it vents into the wheel well. My oil cooler side with my foam tape definitely had more are coming out into the wheel well than my do88 aux radiator on the other side. So my foam tape ghetto seal up job is doing a good job of channeling air straight through the cooler.

The highest temps I saw with the CSF oil cooler were 230 oil. I'm confident the do88 will preform better. The CSF is good for street but I wanted more head room for the track.

The quality of the do88 was decent. I had to chase all the threads on the cooler with a tap. The aux radiator was perfect however. So I hope their quality doesn't decline.

I'd really like to find a way to ditch the heat exchanger. I think it's pointless. I also don't like oil and coolant being that close to eachother if they don't need to be. I just want lines straight from the thermostat to the oil cooler. I bet that would be worth a few degrees of cooling.

To do list before next track season.

Install KMP diff brace and solid mounts. Going to be a crapload of work but I'm too cheap to pay someone to do it.

Possibly add more SPL arms.

Develop version 2 of my front splitter blade cause no one makes a chassis mounted kit for the m2. Rolls eyes.

Remove the washer fluid tank.

Take the seats and cage out to remove the front stock seatbelts.

Assess if there's any other BS I can remove from the car to shed a few pounds without making it ugly.

Yeah that should help if you can duct more air from the head light squirters.

Very interesting and smart idea on the foam seal, I will have to steal that from you

You can ditch the heat exchanger, I believe you can easily disconnect the coolant lines and bypass it by either removing the two fittings from the hoses that go into the heat exchanger and use a piece of tubing to connect the two ends back together (leave the oil flowing through the heat exchanger it should be fine like that). Or create custom hoses from the aux water pump back to the radiator and bottom frame rail hoses using the existing connectors you will have removed from the stock line. I believe tyspeed did it this way.

Yeah I just used that frostking foam from Home Depot. I had some laying around. Seemed to work well! I bet it's worth a few degrees of cooling. The do88 shroud does a good job of fitting nice around the bumpers plastic scoop. I think with it sealed up really good there would be a significant gain.

I'll have the bumper off again soon and I'll look more closely at the heat exchanger.

When it comes to oil and coolant idk that I'd be comfortable splicing lines together. Maybe I can have my local hose guy make me a custom line.
With oil pressure going to 70psi that's enough to blow a ghetto line apart easy

That's good to know!

No with the heat exchanger you'd only splice the coolant lines which aren't under major pressure - hence why the thermostat hoses, water pump hoses etc are held on by worm gear clamps. Don't ghetto splice oil hoses, you'd leave that connected to the heat exchanger. Just remove the coolant side of things.

If you want to remove the oil hoses and heat exchanger entirely, you'd have to convert to an fittings to run custom rubber hoses, and have an air conditioner shop crimp hose fittings on to the rubber style hoses so you can use the factory style oil cooler connectors. I've seen this done before on a bmw oil cooler setup.

Yeah if I'm going to do it, I'd want the heat exchanger totally gone.
I'd need to take a look at things and see what I can do.

I think I've seen oil filter housing AN line adapters. Then it would just be a matter of getting the AN lines to hook up to the factory connections at the oil cooler.
