Door puddle lights (under door) not working
Hey guys, so a couple of days ago I noticed that my puddle lights with the M logos stopped working. I noticed them flickering on and off on the drivers side and then they eventually quit.
Any idea what this could be? |

Just get underneath, they are easy to pop out carefully with a thin flat blade or plastic pry tool, and just see if wire connect has loosened due to shutting/jarring of door. Aftermarkets work fine, some last, and some don't last long time. The OEM's also can give way. If it's gone, order an aftermarket set, pop it in and enjoy. Ours has done just fine.

They are great to have on hand for troubleshooting and any sort of tinkering. Once you pop them off once you'll be like 'duh that was easy' and you can get in there to trouble shoot much better. In the door the power supply to the puddle lights will connect to the lights with a clip. You can check to see if those clips are properly seated. If they are properly seated then I'd use a voltmeter (might need to borrow if you don't have) to see if voltage is present at the clip ends and should be powering the lights. This will help you know if the issue is the lights themselves or further upstream in the wiring / power supply. If both of your puddle lights are not functioning or they are failing intermittently both at the same time, I'm guessing the issue is further upstream and not in the doors / lights themselves.
