If needed I'll do an exterior wash occasionally in between these annual detail intervals depending on just how filthy the car is.

I'm not a fan of regular washing, it attracts too much attention esp on certain colors (LBB M2). People are less likely to fuck with your car if it isn't immaculately clean all the time.
No offense but why should it matter to other people what you do with your car?

Lol.

Just sharing my experience/view on car washing since that's what this thread is about.

Does anyone's opinion really matter on any post on any thread? Is this not a community of bmw enthusiasts, specifically M2 owners, discussing their views on any particular topic like the OP discussing his car wash experience.

No offense, but I don't really understand what you're getting at, bud.

Never a car wash, always I hand wash two buckets. The 788m rims suuuck to clean. I use BMW wheel cleaner gel which is cheap and works really well.

For any of you with 763M matte black wheels what do you use to wash them safely?

I think the secret would start with having them ceramic coated

I always coat my wheels now and the cleaning difference is amazing

I personally use chemical guys Diablo wheel cleaner

I love it it works flawlessly

FWIW I previously used the P&S Brake Buster as it came highly recommended from all the details freaks and works wonders but have really limited my use of it after seeing it appear to eat at the finish of the stock 437M wheels.

Started seeing other detail freaks discuss only using regular car foamed car soap on wheels for the same reason.

I'll be ceramic coating my Rays G025s here in a couple weeks, and will only use soap and water on them out of an abundance of caution. YMMV

Brake buster has always worked well for me. But I gave up on detailing these m2 comp wheels, too much of a pain in the ass. I can only imagine the pain that M3/M4 owners go through lmaooo

Usually all I do is spritz the wheels with brake buster after rinsing them with water, then scrub with my wheel brush. Rinse off when done
