It's impressive how with a few well sorted handling mods and good tires the F platform becomes quite a performer.

I was always amazed to be on GT4s asses on stock tires even with my lower powered LCI M2.

I think that's a testament to your driving skills more than anything. As capable as the F87 is, the power:weight and chassis/suspension of the GT4 is superior.

Totally agreed. Drivers being equal this should be a no-contest win for the Porsche. I have some videos of getting by 911s at the 'Ring and at Spa, and it's not because my OG M2 is faster.

I got ya, the thing I had the most in mind when driving behind them was how fast I could be driving there GT4

I really need to get behind P-cars on track but I'm scared it's going to make me want to dump the M2 in a heartbeat..

When i'm racing in Lemons, i'll sometimes pass a car multiple times in a session and think "man, that thing is slow" only to have it absolutely destroy me later in the day when a different driver gets behind the wheel.

You got it. Happened to me too. Passing a car numerous time though the day, only to be blown away by it later in the evening. It's scary how fast a fast driver in a "slow" car can be. That's why endless driver mod. Because no matter how good you are (or think you are, like in my case ,) you can always get better. Even though I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells or rich mahogany.

I like how the Porsche owner update the video title. It said in the title that is was a 700hp M2 Competition.

The M2C owner clarified in comments that he is tuned to 487 not 700..

Hell of a driver

I've watched this video and also read the comments in the YT section.

While I'm not sure what tires the GT3RS is on, it's worth noting that the M2 is on Trofeo R's.
Also, the GT3RS driver said the M2 was pulling away in the straight line so I'm not sure how the M2 only has 487hp (the M2 owner said first that he has upgraded turbos making 700hp and then claimed he was joking and actually makes only 487hp). Some conflicting information there.

M2 owner also refused to reveal the modifications he has made so for all we know, it could have been a full race build which would not surprise me indeed if it was faster than a GT3RS.

An M2C with an engine tune, coil overs, and sticky tires is going to be very fast indeed. People knock the S55 for being soul-less but it was walking away from the RS at points there, in a significantly heavier car. The M2 is a fantastic platform, no question about it.

Looking at how the M2 walks away from the RS is pretty telling. My guess would be ~600hp to walk from a much lighter Porsche making over 500hp.

But you're right, the tuning potential of the S55 is quite impressive.

The driver of the M2 has said that it was 487hp tuned

Its not about the HP alone. Its mainly about the high flat torque curve being available in wide rpm band. For sure the Trofeos help the car to put that down.

At the end I agree it is about the driver most probably

They're both amazing cars - really cool to see just how capable the M2 is with driver mod!

Huh? So in your mind all drivers are of equal skill therefore the car must have more power?

Sure man, you do you. I honestly don't give a shit, was just posting from the source. But in this era of fake news bullshit for anything you don't agree with/ doesnt line up with your world view, not surprised by your comment. Go tell him he's lying, I don't have a dog in this fight.

You're putting words in my mouth. Apparently the driver said some things that weren't true, then walks away from the GT3RS in more than one instance, and that doesn't make sense.

Also, the M2 was specifically tuned for The Ring, trans, wheels/tires/suspension, etc.

Driver skill is apparent at braking point, turn in, and exit. On a straight it's the more powerful car which wins.

And since the 3200lbs RS has over 500hp, the 3550lbs M2 must have more power/torque to walk away from it, when they start at the same speed. It's only logical.

Don't forget these two have way different torque curve.

True. But a GT3 has walked away from my M2 many times on a straight. So all the more reasons I find this strange. I have gotten them in braking and with a better line on corner exit, but never on the straights.

Corner exit speed is a big factor defeating a higher HP car on an avg length straight. Just saying...
