Best ppf rear fender

I had the stock protectors replaced with larger pieces of 3M PPF on each rear fender.

I have had it for about 5 months. I do lots of canyon runs and am already getting rashing and some chips on the film on each rear fender.

Im glad I got the PPF but am wondering if there is a thicker/better one ( XPEL? ) that would be recommended or are they all about the same?

Thanks

I had Xpel installed 1.5 years ago. I can feel small imperfections in the film when I run my hand across it, but visually it looks mostly fine. I only have experience with Xpel and Suntek PPF, I never had issues with either of them.

Thanks. Yeah I can feel the same on the 3M, but I can also visually see small white marks all over it. Thats a bummer but at least its just on the film. Maybe I'll roll with it for awhile then switch and try Xpel.

As I understand it, a little work with a heat gun will smooth the film out. "Self healing" is what they (at least Xpel) advertise.

Have you had a chance to either see if it heals or get new clear bra applied? If not, we'd be happy to help you at our shop!

Thank You. I'll DM if interested. The heat gun didn't do anything, from what Ive heard its only for the most minimal scratches.
Im installing some mud flaps this week to help prevent further damage to the film on the rear fenders. I will eventually get it replaced but not sure timeline yet.
