At the end of the day, at least for me, it will all work out. Have to keep things in perspective....roof over my head, food on the table, M2 Comp sitting in port! 😏

Great perspective, lots of things to be positive about. If the earlier flier was accurate, then it's only 350 or so cars. Who knows. Couple more weeks isn't going to be the end of the world.

The second option, IIRC. Definitely found it looking around on the BMWUSA.com site.

Yes, it is strange . If you use the second option , it shows remedy unavailable . If you use mybmw and check , it shows remedy available .

So from what I can tell we have one report of a car being released from a VDC that is part of the recall. Anyone else? Mine is sitting there right now.

I called BMW Genius and they confirmed that the VDC locations will get the parts before the dealers. They could not confirm whether replacement parts have arrived at the VDCs though.

What does VDC stand for? Same as VPC?

These terms seem to be used interchangeably here, but VDC stands for Vehicle Distribution Center.

I don't know where VPC came from. The sign on the facility at Port Hueneme says Vehicle Distribution Center.

Per BMW Genius' recommendation I had my SA call / email down to the VDC. They are expecting parts in 'the next couple of days' and then will begin repairing and shipping cars. Best guess for me was a 10 day delay, but I think that was just a spitball guess.

My SA tried to get them to just ship the car and have the repair done at the dealer when parts arrive, but that is not going to be allowed by BMW.

Hopefully, this helps level set expectations for those awaiting delivery.

I'm still hopeful that my car can be shipped by the end of the first week of June.

I just got off the phone with BMWNA in regards to my refunds for my flights and my payments and my insurance and all that good stuff. I was told that the flyer going around is fake (she mentioned bimmerforums by name lol), and that there is still no official estimate from BMWNA

My "no sale" M4 arrived at my dealership one day after the recall notice went out. The GM of the dealership was sympathetic and offered to let me drive it as a "loaner" for the weekend. The stipulation was that I had to keep it under 300 miles so that the car would still be considered new and they wouldn't get into trouble with BMW corporate.

What kind of crazy person makes a fake flyer for a BMW airbag recall?! LOL

I thought refreshing this forum and the tracker all day proved that I had too much time on my hands. That is a whole 'nother level.

It might not have been an official communication or the person phantom7835 was speaking to may not have been aware.

Why would there be a fake flyer outlining fewer VINs etc. It could have just been someone who put information together for dealer consumption and not for customer consumption.

Parts start arriving on the 27th could also mean that BMW Germany or whoever starts getting shipments of parts from the airbag supplier. Not that parts arrive at the VDC or whatever

In the post you quoted I was responding to a question asking about the dealer letting me drive my car before the recall fix is made and it is officially sold to me. It had nothing to do with the May 27th info sheet.

I got the flyer I posted earlier directly from the store Sales Manager, so I'm not sure how much more credible it can get. Other people have been told the same thing by their dealerships independently, and like you said, who the hell takes the time to distribute bogus recall info for a niche product? I'm personally more inclined to have faith in the information coming across the desk of management than I am in whatever is being passed on to call center staff. That being said we should know more one way or the other next week. Since the fix will be applied first to "sold" vehicles waiting at the processing centers, I'm sure you will all get your cars before parts trickle all the way up here.

I sent the flyer to the CA , they said that they were aware of the information.
The BMWNA customer hotline has less information than the dealership and they always speak based on whatever In front of their screen.
