so is this list CONFIRMED?

my VIN isn't listed on there, but i'd honestly want to see it there and be true.. then have it not be there and that list be inaccurate.

The list is not accurate. Mine is not on there, and my car is affected.

My VIN is not on the list either but apparently my car is on delivery hold but customer service rep couldn't tell me why.

My car completed production on July 5th and when I called last week for an update is when I found out I was on delivery hold. Perhaps this is the reason why but I'm not 100% sure.

My car is a '17 M4 6MT with ZCP.

By the way, my car is still in Germany. As far as I know it hasn't boarded a ship yet.

Same here. Have we noticed a trend that this is mostly effecting ZCP cars?

I live in Germany and my new M3 has been standing on the dealer's lot awaiting my pick-up on the 3rd of August. With the recent announcement from BMW, it looks like it just might end up standing there a little longer...

I had the opportunity to see the German Announcement from BMW to the dealers and found it interesting that BMW stated that the dealers could release a car to the customer, if it had already been registered with the German Traffic Authorities. They also stated that there was no need to recall a vehicle if it had been already released.

That would indicate to me that the issue with the differential/drivetrain cannot be that serious, but makes it even more puzzling as to why they are not releasing the non-registered vehicles and no replacement parts are available...

Ok, so my car isn't on the list either. But I'm going to talk to my CA and find out if I'm still effected. My car is on a boat and will dock on the 27th or 28th. Is this something they will address at the port of entry or at the dealership? I have a PCD to schedule too so that might change things.

What Baconbrain said was interesting about the people who took ED delivery and how BMW may not be recalling those... Can we insist on a fix if they haven't placed our VIN on an official document citing that there is an issue?

What would you like, a hat or a keychain?

So far, your car hasn't been delayed beyond the normal stuff, nor has mine. From my point of view, when the delays add up, then I'll bitch, but not until.

Mine's not on the list either, but BOTH my dealer and BMWNA say it's been affected. BMW Genius says it's NOT, but to trust the dealer/BMWNA before him.

Mine is a NON-ZCP DCT M3 just in case that matters. Production was 6/28 and delivery "supposedly" 7/25.

In any case, this whole week's been a disaster and what I've gone through mirrors everyone else's post on this site, so I'll just keep my expectations "LOW" at this point so I don't get my hopes up.

BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!

I called and was told I was part of a DIFFERENT delivery stop- that my car was not impacted by the diff issue, but that the car appears to be stuck at the vdc.

Who the hell knows? :

I just looked at the list. The VIN before and after mine is on the list. I have my car now but plan to call the dealer tomorrow to confirm I am okay.

Currently my car is not on the list. Will have to wait to find out more.
Mo was supposed to help us by Pming him our Vins, but up to now has not responded.
Let's home this issue is limited to just the few cars.

Hi,

My M2 order is 10 months old and I've been let down at the eleventh hour with this differential malarkey, the only difference being that my car is still stuck at the factory and they can't give me any time frame.

I'm also in " negotiations " with BMW

We were scheduled for PCD today. I've been working with my CA all week to understand whether or not my car was affected, and was told several times that it was not. We flew into Spartanburg yesterday, then the VIN list showed up on this thread. We called BMW and confirmed that we cannot take delivery of our car. We were told to show up at the Performance Center anyway, participate in the scheduled activities (minus delivery of the car), then find our own method of getting back home, there will be no car, and no loaner. Needless to say, neither my wife or I are in the mood for a day of BMW marketing Kool-aid and will be flying home this later morning.

Good luck everyone. If you have travel plans and time off from work scheduled around your delivery, push your CA and BMW Customer Care to confirm the status of your car. It seemed highly improbable that BMW would not contact us if our vehicle was affected, BEFORE we got on a plane(s), but that is exactly what happened.

Mine (M4) is also stuck with no timescales on when it will ship, it was built week 27. Checked the list and my car is not on it so there must be more than the original 202 cars

1.) Go take ED as planned, get to see my car, and the whole delivery experience and BMW will provide a car for me to use while on my trip. I will not be allowed to drive out with it. They will reimburse a monthly payment for my trouble.

2.) Cancel trip altogether and BMW will cover all cancellation costs as long as I provide receipts. Car will be delivered as soon as possible, with differential replaced, to my home dealer.

3.) Postpone the trip to a later date and BMW will cover all change fee costs. As you all know there is no ETA on when this affected car repairs will be completed.
Dilemma need help.

Apparently my car is affected and not on this list circulating.

I haven't received any update from my SA nor BMW Canada on any options. I don't know if I should continue on with my trip and board my plane in about 10hrs from this posting. I have a feeling I won't be getting a comparable loaner and it just upsets me knowing I will be doing my first ED in something like a 5/7 series.

I'm still so upset and disappointed my whole Ed trip got ruined.

What would you do?

TIA

I don't know all the details of your situation, but if it were me, I would put the screws to the dealer and make him / her commit to a reasonable settlement. I would also not do an ED, if my car wasn't available for pick-up. You can always test drive a different car at home, but picking up "your" car from the factory is what the ED is all about. (IMO)

Good Luck.

I'm in the same status as you. My 2017 m3 was to be completed by July 6th. According to Genius, production seems to be complete but my car is on hold at the factory for some unknown reason. I've been in this status for at least 10 days now. I was told my car does not have the differential issue.
