I haven't been able to get comfortable in my seat yet. Not sure if it's the angle or the fact that I'm so used to sitting on the "ground" in my Z4s. Totally different seating style.

The seat was very comfortable in the M235i that I took for a test drive.Have you tried using the thigh extender on the seat?

This seems like a dumb oversight to me - how can the seat not be straight?
Not sure if the 235 is like this too, but I never noticed it. It would be one of those things that I couldn't "unsee" if that makes any sort of sense...

From BMW blog: He also doesn't like the seat position, claiming it to be crooked in order to meet safety regulations.

Long term it may even resolve itself if that bolster breaks in faster then the left side. I'm not very big though so don't think I'm putting enough strain on it to make a difference.

In other words, if I make the seat straight, my steering wheel wouldn't be perpendicular to the seat? |

However, from original design, seat has to point to left , and steering wheel seems to be on the right. If seat and steering wheel line up, mean steering wheel moves to left. It's just relativity. I should have clarified my previous post |

I only noticed it after a friend of mine drove it and he commented on it. He's an Olympic fencer and by nature of the sport his body is very lopsided, his right side is much bigger (muscle wise) than his left so I guess the seat impact was magnified on him.

I think the pictures make it look worse than it is. As i originally posted weeks ago when this was first noticed, unless the M2 is different to my M235i, which i doubt !
The seats are straight. I confirmed this with a straight edge across both front seats with them set in same position and the straight edge touched all four seat bolsters. However, the seat is offset 1" to steering wheel centre. This is common on MANY cars and has been for years. |

Regardless, I truly believe this would drive me insane.
