Gloss Carbon Fiber Console Trim for CS

Hello, I just installed the autotecknic gloss carbon fiber console trim and the gloss trim portion does not fit well. There is a overly sized gap between the shifter and the CF trim. Also, the autotecknic alcantara color is not the same color as the CS alcantara. I plan on returning the item.

Any who, I noticed that the carbon trim portion can easily detach from the base. Was wondering if anyone has removed the m3 gloss CF trim and installed it on the m2 console trim base?

Thinking this will give the best overall fitment and will match the CS carbon fiber probably better than any aftermarket product.

Yes, I've done it and really happy with the result.

Where did you source the m3 carbon trim?

I’m lost. Can some explain in further detail? I’ve been wanting to do this with OEM parts for forever.

You need to purchase the BMW OEM part 51162358358, detach the carbon fibre part from the base plate, do the same with the one you have and reinstall the carbon trim.

The carbon and std trim is held on to the base plate using one-way metal clips on ABS plastic pins, two of which are very thin and you might happen to break them slightly in the process, but it won't affect the finished result in my experience. This eBay listing has a pic of the underside so you understand what you need to do: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276101781186

Got it, thanks.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get the gloss carbon emergency brake handle on there somehow? I think the boot for it is a different shape so I think the only way would be to remove and replace the handle itself but it looks like the handle doesn’t come off like that.

The handle comes off. You can YouTube it. I did it when my car was new. I believe you push the button in all the way and pull hard. Double check on the video, but I do recall it did take a little muscle to get the OEM handle off.
