It should sound exactly like that. Remember the mic is outside the car in that little space under the wipers nbetween the windshield and hood...

The Tune added double digit power @ the wheels so it might sound slightly slower but i doubt noticable. The can flap valve i have keeps my valve open but wen u punch it or r in sports + its open anyway.


I highly recommend it, just build or have a shop build some sort of heat shield bc my intake air temps were hitting 140*F until I made that shield...Im getting one fabricated professionally but that did the trick and brought temps back to where they were before

Sorry just bragging a little...Proud of y Grandfather and my family...

But On topic The intake did feel like it addded a bit of power after the heat shield....But theres always the sound factor.Louder always makes cars feel faster...

Nice! I just love the NYC Iron work around the city and I am happy that your family was part of it. There is somthing special in the NYC steel buildings that can't be found anywhere else in the world.

UPDATE:

Cars been in shop for a while now, and its just about done...Conservatively 2-3 weeks....In the mean time I bought a few goodies...

Performance Mods:

JB4 Stage II w EWG connector, OBDII Canbus wire, and Flex Fuel Connector.
Enzo will be doing the back end flash AFR and Timing, VANOS, etc...

The Rev 3 so I can control my Maps through my Galaxy S7

5 gallon bucket of E85

Canflap Mod I got right b4 accident to mute ASD and open/close exhaust Valves.

3" QTEC Exhaust Cutout getting installed....

H&R Lowering Springs will be here by fri. .8"+ drop front , rear...

New Front wheels...Since they were scraped, and the offsets were horrible +35mmi believe (no concavaty) I hated them...Ordered new front wheels with 22MM offsets and 1" Michelin Tire Lettering Kit Like on the old M3...Also most likely PC"ing the FF 103s Bronze, or at least the lip or just the center or barrell...

Here's the lettering...on my old bend stock rim which i painted black...

Heat wrap and a thermal blanket made to wrap around the hot side of the turbo...

Also by the time the car is back I will have a VRSF FMIC, wil a charge pipe and 1 of 3 things....

a. water injection
b. 25 wetshot of Nitrous
c. methanol injection

also may have a fabricator cut open the hood or a c/f one and put a functional vent into the intake or better yet multiple intakes before the i/c

Also ordered tons of gauges A wideband AFR , EGT IAT(Dual gauge pre and post IC nad obv boost) may kjust get the P3 gauge lol but i want the AEM Ethanol content 4 in 1 so well see...

Also I am picking racing seats w blue 4 point harnessness and a UUc SSk

between 4" piping from the intake filter to the inlet of a thermal wrapped turbo an efficient i/c, means of cooling donw air like meth or n0s, open exhaust to evacuate hot gases quickly...and a well dyno tuned jb4 and full flash i think on 40% e85 and meth I will have one of the fastest M2s around (STOCK TURBO)...not trying to be cocky...but thats as cool as u can get that air and ill be working on some things to get better tractionas well...

Next step is a larger single or maybe twin turbo set we shall see

LOL. NO my man...If you understand the internal combustion engine n physics....nothing to worry about...but everything i mentioned is cooing the air intake charge and turbine. Cold air is good and makes the mixture (air/fuel harder to burn) thus avoiding the enemy "detonation" or knock. heat and pre-ignition blows motors up....cold makes more power with more safety...

Plus BMW has safety mechanisms buit in that dont detect knock afterwards which can be too late but detect the conditons nessasary and thus pull timing, or lower boost or richen the afr....So the BMW platform is tough to kill from knock...

Some motors have unbalanced cranks or bad bearings but thats a whole diff ballgame my friend...

So, is this the shiftter you installed, earlier in the thread you referred to it as an OEM part that you got from ECS, but the only thing I see listed there for the M235 is the UUC kit. Is that the one you did?

No. That UUC SSK is great but there is a good ssk on ECSTuning.com for $169...I am ordering that now, however the mod i was referring to is here...M235i Carbon Fiber Shift Knob & Boot<---Click here

I vote water or meth, Id not due to NOS this isnt a drag racer and I think nos is illegal in Nassau county if memory serves.

Im in suffolk n its just illegal to carry any compressed as in a certain volume w o certain precautions labels n permits,,,

had NOS on two past cars police never cared

Ur right prob doing meth bit iF i do NOX im talking 25-50 wet shot w a new LPHF fuel pump, injectors WOT physical switch ZEX proressive conrtroller to shut it on at WOT 2-6th gear 3-5k RPMs and run the NOS level INVERSE the boost...


Or maybe just use a heavy shot to spray ON the OEM FMIC instead of spending 800 on and Active Auto...

Sorry just saw this.

I have a back end dyno tune from Enzo Performance (1st one hes done so kind if beta version. Stock Boost but he removed Gov'na, adjusted AFR and Ignition timing, got rid of readiness for 02 bank 2...Got about 30 HP @ the wheels WITHOUT raising boost at all...Thats on 93AKI and with 2-3 days, maybe 10 hrs...He thinks w my intake, the heat protection, 3" open exhaust valve open...VRSF downpipe, IC inlet pipe, BMS Charge pipe, After Market FMIC (either Active or Wagner)Fuel-It Fuel system upgrade...Meth Kit, and NOX or Water to spray the I/C...(Idea came from my evo viii, which had OEM water spray button for the FMIC...)

Ill have my car back in less than 2 weeks and bc I didn't have her I spentwayyyy too much on mods, 1 finskky being JB4 Stage II with EWG harness, Enzo is gonna use this to raise the boost to 18+ on 93, and maybe 23-25 ( maybe more) on Methanol Map, C85 30% and possibly NOX spraying on an aftermarket Inter cooler...My IATs will be colder than ambient LMAO might need to drastically change the Spark plug gaps...

Fav thing about M2 is the lack of lag, I have vids against worked M3/M4's roll races that I take 4-5 cars off the batt (If u wanna call BS, PM ill send them)...Too many ppl go so big, the pressure drop then raise heats the air back up and increases lag tremendously....So Im being careful getting something a little bigger than stock just more effiecient and focusing on many other ways to cool the intake air...This way I can make a ton of power and spool even FASTER than now (People dont know about that qtec valve hehe) Instant, INSTANT 25psi from -10psi...

Next post I'll post pics of what I've bought over the last month

P3 Vent Gauge w/OBD connecter and Tru Boost Feat.

Hooked it up in my rental Nissan Senta Last night n it worked ! LOL without even pluggin in wires just OBD...Getting Wide band and, IAT Pre-post FMIC, Mechanical Boost etc... Heres a vid:

Rev 3. Smartphoe JB4 Integration

F Series Can Flap Module, to disable ASD, and open close exhaust flaps at will...( Not that this will matter soon as my QTEC 3" Exhaust Cutout is being installed after the new Wide band and EGT sensor, but Before the OEM Resonator...(I Have the 4" VRSF Downpipe, so the litt;e lag the M2 has will be gone.

Heat Wrap, and high temp silicone spray to wrap every hot pipe, and tube near the engine compartment...

P3 Vent Guage w/ OBD conection todisplay boost, RPM, speed, Throttle %, and with the add on 0-5v Options, my LSU2.4 Wideband will be tapped in, as well as a dual IAT guage (digital) one before OEM FMIC, One after.

5 Gallons of C85 (E-85)

My Enzo Back true engine TUNE, was working flawlessly before the acccident. So He want to spend a few days working on a hybrid tune between his Recalibration, and the JB4...Im sure Enzo will be using the Dyno to tweak terry maps for my exact logs ....


Last but not least two more mods not here yet but soon...

Cry02 and water sprayers spraying iced or c02 chilled water onto the stock FMIC then blasting it with C02....Bringing post FMIC temps well below pre (even on 21-23+PSI+ on a smaller turbo) which you rarely see...and they also use a product a friend uses that uses that C02 to cool the 93 aki fuel after a new Walbro LPHF in-Line pump (also upgrading injectors)

ANNNNND Last but not least METHANOL injection...Need to decide on AEM, DEI, BMS, or a few diff brands. Leaning BMS so integration with piggy back is flawless...

All this cooling, dense freezing air in and warm/hot air out resistance free I should be making serious numbers with 4-5psi less than another car without these techniques...AT over 20psi and an intake charge 20*F cooler than ambient temps the question is will I have enough fuel or add more in that dept...

I'm excited to see the results! Just by standing next to the car you can tell it radiates some serious heat after some very short spirited drives.
