Roof bars (genuine BMW)
Can anyone confirm that this part number ‘8271 2 361 815’
Is for the genuine BMW roof bars that will fit a f87 M2. Also does anyone run them with a roof cage/tray to transport wheels and tyres around (for trackdays) Thanks in advance |

From what I can find the recommended maximum load on the roof rack is 165 pounds. Remember that you have to subtract the weight of the roof tray besides the weight of the wheels. No way can you put 4 wheels and tires on the roof.

From just a quick google search front (assume without a tyre) is 22lb And rear 23lb. Again a quick google On a 19”tyre is around 25lb. So possibley be able to get 3. (Depending on cage weight) Plan was only for 3 anyway as the 4 can go in the boot. Can’t fit anymore inside as I have a rear cage and swat delete. Will have to get the scales out and go weigh my wheels Normally I just commit and go on Cup2s and take a single spare with me but I’m booked on a TD at spa francorchamps on 10th November. (Last year i was in a friends m4 on MPS4) but the weather was blinding. 18c and brilliant sunshine all day. Def on the wrong tyre that day but Spa Is so changable. |
