Michelin Sport Cup 2
Just looked and it appears as if these are in the M2 sizes. These will definitely cut lap times and add much more grip.

They will and they will last 10 miles and cost $2,500
Great tire if someone is willing to spend the bucks.

On my GT3 they last crazy long after multiple track days actually. Super sports last longer but the Cup2's on the GT3 last 75% of the SuperSports.

I got roughly 20000 kms out of my PSS. So if those cup 2's get 75% of that, that's really not good distance out of a tire. I've never had my car on the track either, so I could imagine even less mileage.

I bet they hold up better on the much lighter GT3 than the M2/3/4. Weight kills tires quick

Just an observation - don't know about the Sport Cup 2; but, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire eats nails. Other than that, nice tire.

The difference between the GT3 weight and the M2 is 200 lbs, combined with the closer to 50/50 balance I would guess the M2 will wear those cups about the same.

You all act as if the Cup2's are a 100 treadwear race tire...
Considering they are a 200 treadwear tire, they will last fairly long. I have them. This is not a race compound, although it does handle heat well. Again, 200 treadwear tires are not as crazy as you all think. I have run 200 treadwear tires on my street vehicles for the past 12yrs or so. I believe that is just you running over nails. Sometimes "we" get unlucky in that sense. I once pulled out a rifle shell out of my tire, seriously HUGE hole!

My M3 weighs in at 3425lbs with a 1/4 tank gas or so. I'll be pulling the trigger on the BMS aluminum race exhaust soon enough, should drop another 35lbs or so (I've forgotten the exact weight it sheds off, but its very close to 35lbs)
