Water Stain Removal on Plastic Seat Lever Handle

I had some rain land on my seat a few months back and it caused some discoloration on my driver's side seat leaver release. I came across an old thread where Aversion suggested using a magic eraser to clean up his faded trim on his door plate.

I gave the magic eraser a shot on my seat's faded latch and it worked like a charm!

Here are some before and after pictures:

That appears to show the product previously used on the lever didn't like water, and the Magic Eraser successfully removed the affected product?

Great question, since I bought the car new I never remember cleaning the lever so the cause of the discoloration is still a mystery to me. Before using the eraser, I did try alcohol to remove stain but it did not help the situation.

Interesting - I wonder if it can do anything about the seat levers on my E46...

I keep cleaning mines with 303 interior cleaner and I can see the improvements it's getting back to normal.
