Paint chip repair vs bumper re-paint
Hi guys,
I'm in the hunt for a used car (cause there no new left..) and found a 2020 (CPO) on which the bumper is quite hammered even though the car only has 18k km. Dealer is offering me to 'professionally' repaint the whole bumper. Should I be happy, or worried that the color won't match? Base colour is HS. I've got another option that has slightly less milage (10k km), 2021 instead of 2020, has PPF installed on the front end, but isn't a CPO, has no sunroof and worn out tires, and is 3.5k$ more. Thanks for your support ! Last edited by billypopo; 03-02-2022 at 07:22 PM.. |

Have the dealer put in writing that you can view the painted bumper in direct sunlight and make sure it's a perfect match before the sale is finalized. Only put down a deposit up front. I'd also go so far as to have the dealer warranty the newly painted bumper against any future defects like peeling, cracking, etc.

Thats 50% fewer miles, a year newer, and no repaint required. I'd go for the 2021 as you've got plenty of warranty left, but for the price I'd ask for a new set of tires to be thrown into the deal. MPSS or something like that

If you plan to tune it, DME of 2020 ones is compliant (bench unlock), 2021 are not yet - and apparently they might never be...
Just in case (stock it's quite fast already - but hey who knows, you might want more one day- and the S55 has the potential) |
